I have been working as a behaviour technician in ABA services for children with autism for about three and a half years. I work for The children's Center in Michigan and they are pretty amazing and supportive especially in a job with high burnout rate. You can find jobs on indeed.com and there are many companies I see on there. I would be careful though and make sure you check out the company. You want to make sure they are providing ethical and high standard services. The experience is definitely life changing and you learn alot that you can use both at work and outside of work. I cannot speak to how good this looks on your resume but I do know that alot of companies that provide ABA services also have SLPs that you can shadow to get hours.

Hi all, If you have attended any of these programs and can offer any advice that would be helpful too. These are all masters programs that prepare you for PhD programs. Augusta university- Graduate Assistantship offered with full tuition waiver and very small stipend. Does not cover living expenses Western Carolina university- Graduate assistantship offered with more than enough to cover living expenses but no tuition coverage. Very close research match with lots of great opportunities. Scholarships available during the next semester. Umass(dartmouth)- offering assistantship with 12,000 per semester year and some tuition coverage(amount not specified) Least closest research match

I applied to both PhD and Master's programs but since I did get into my first choice PhD, I am going with the Masters option. I got an interview with Western Carolina University and Augusta University which both offer funding. If anyone has any information on both programs, I would love your input.

One of my schools say I have a bunch of incomplete items which I have already submitted. I was hoping to call the school today but no one picked up. Does anyone know if schools are open during the weekend for me to call them.

If you can, submit both. If you want to pick one to submit, I wold go with the first score as you scored highest on that for both Verbal and Quantitative.

I almost did not submit a required document for one of my schools. I also still need to call one of my schools to check if they recieved all my document because it tells me on their website that they haven't. On a better not, I have submitted all my applications that were due Dec 1st and my final recommender submitted his letter too. I am very close to surviving this application season. I thought I was the only one doing the same thing. Every-time someone applies to a school that everyone raves about I always check with baited breadth to make sure I did not miss a program that could have been a great fit for me.

I am applying to 5 PHD and 1 Masters and this is also a learning experience for me. I have submitted 3 of my applications.

Wow, I had no idea those programs did not take GRE. I am so jealous and wish I had applied to University of Rhode Island. The reason they give for not requiring GRE is such a valid one and it makes me feel like that's a program I want to be in.

I am confident about my decision but this definitely boosted my confidence a little more even though we are applying to different concentrations.

I really didn't care about R1 or R2 or even the name of the school. Not that I don't care but I just want to work in a lab that merges with my research and enjoy my PHD experience(as much as i can ofcourse). Thankfully, most of the programs that are doing the work I am interested in get at the most 200 applicants in total. I don't even know how that worked out but it did and I am grateful that I have less competition. I checked all those other programs too but I was not excited about their research and I want to be excited about the research I will be involved in for the next 5 or so years.

Yes, I am. I am trying to make sure I don't go bankrupt in this process and I am applying to one masters program. I also wanted to be able to focus on each school and be able to give each SOP my entire focus without having to sacrifice any application and miss anything. When I had 12 schools on the list, I found that I was having to keep up with alot and some of the schools were missing something with me that I was comfortable eliminating them.

Submitted my first application today and it is just absolutely terrifying. Keeping a positive mindset though and I plan to just relax when all this is over. 5 more to go!
