  1. I just wanted to start a thread about how incredibly comfortable and confident I felt while interacting with UCA's faculty! They were so kind and considerate and seemed to really want to know me. Though interviews are quite short, I felt like they really got to know me beyond just my test scores and GPA. UCA was lower on my list of schools, but honestly, if the faculty are this supportive and helpful UCA, I will definitely have to consider them more during my final decision!
  2. Yeshiva seems like a promising program with a lot of positive aspects (stated by slp1921 above). The real turn off for me is that tuition... on top of the cost of living that just seemed outrageous. Not sure how financial aid is, but for a newer candidate school I wouldn't be able to justify spending that kind of money.
  3. This gif is for the original poster genuinely caring about people's mental wellbeing, but me still stubbornly checking gradcafe... This gif, however, is for everybody who needs some stress relief while still checking gradcafe. Enjoy, try and stay away from gradcafe, call a loved one, whatever -- You're worth it!
  4. You can also add all of this information right to your admissions result post. It also allows for comments such as your experiences!
  5. So, I am looking at the email again and I keep seeing their 3-4 weeks promise. I'd imagine they'll send them out next week since it's Mid-February and earlier than they sent them out last year (Feb. 22nd).
  6. Good! I'm assuming you were one of the people who posted on the "admission results" page, too! I've talked to a current student in their program and she didn't say anything like that! She said she loved it because it's very interdisciplinary and challenging which will prepare her well for the future. I never heard anything like what you've mentioned about their program...Mind sharing some posts/articles?
  7. Have you received the supplemental application invite?
  8. Awesome! Good luck to you as well! Just a quick side note, we are applying to very similar schools so I hope that one of us gets into these amazing schools!
  9. For everybody who received the Eau Claire application review email on January 15th (or around that date), it reads "Application review is underway and you can expect to receive an email update from us in 3-4 weeks. " Does this mean we should be receiving decisions either this week or by next week?
  10. I honestly just put the first interview date that I requested. No notification for them yet!
  11. I've heard it's more of a conversation and very comfortable! Probably good to know an "elevator pitch" for why you want to be an SLP, what labs/programs you're interested in, and besides that, I hear they have very unique questions. I've read that, for the most part, you can't totally prepare. Knowing why you want to be an SLP and why you'd want to attend Emerson are key, though (and that goes for all interviews I'd imagine).
  12. Hi all! Just got my invite to interview with Emerson. I had two questions (and feel free to contribute to this thread as I believe many people apply to Emerson): In general, what are the interviews like? I only once read that Emerson's and Case Western's were more of a conversation and then a stump/tricky question that doesn't relate to SLP. Would it hurt my chances to interview via Skype? Like really... I live in Wisconsin and have another interview that Friday, and I could attempt to muster the money for a plane ticket and busy weekend if Skype interviews aren't as good for chances of admission.
  13. did you add your stats to the Speech Pathology Graduate School Admission Results?
  14. I emailed the person who we returned our Interview Day Decisions about what the Interview Day process would be like last night. No word yet
  15. I am a little confused what the interview will even be. The letter said, "The interview day will begin at 8:30am and will end at approximately 3:30pm. The interview will include meeting faculty and clinical supervisors, and touring research labs and the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center. There will also be opportunities to meet current graduate students." So when exactly are we doing formal interviews, or is this more of a relaxed visit opportunity? Hopefully, the details sent in a forthcoming email should clarify these questions.
  16. I'll be heading in early Friday! Were you the other one to post your interview invitation on the Speech pathology grad school admission results page?
  17. I'm applying for the Speech-Language Pathology program. Probably a little different than MFA's process. I wish you the best of luck!
  18. Has anybody interviewed with Case Western Reserve University before? They invite those selected to campus, but I am not sure whether they are able to remote interview as well. I have classes on Fridays and live seven hours away -- a $300 plane ticket just doesn't seem like the most practical option. Does anybody have experience with this? Furthermore, how are their interviews? I haven't seen anything on this or other forums about them at all really. From my research on this forum, it looks like those that have interviewed also got an offer. Can anybody speak to this?
  19. Nope! Only thing is personal info and a whether you've applied there before/are affiliated with the university section! Good luck
  20. A colleague I know who goes there said, "I think they send it to the people that make it to the second round of admissions, so not everyone gets one but not everyone that gets one gets accepted, if that makes sense".
  21. I got an email today from Rush saying that my application to the Rush SLP Master's Degree Program has "received favorable initial review" and I am "now invited to complete the Rush University Supplemental Application". Has anybody else gotten this? Is this a good sign for admissions??
  22. Surprised nobody has responded to this, but they're actually my undergrad currently. Obviously that Quant looks low compared to the types of people they accept here. It's great that you have research experience since it is such a research-focused school. Also, having those big awards and honors should look great -- just making sure you emphasize them in your "experiences" portion of the application/resume. I'd be happy to talk to you more about the types of students that I see in the graduate cohorts here if you want to shoot me a message.
