  1. Your profile looks good to me. For RF/Analog ICs I would add UCLA, UCSD, USC, UC Irvine and Columbia.
  2. If you are interested in analog/RF I think you should consider UC Berkeley, Columbia, Caltech, UC Irvine, USC and U Washington as well.
  3. I have never been in that situation before, but as others have already suggested I recommend trying to switch to tea. However, for a better lifestyle in the long term, I think you should look for other ways of coping with stress that are unrelated to eating or drinking. Good luck !
  4. IMHO the best way to lose weight is to control your food intake regardless of any meal timing schedule. I'd suggest to cook your own meals and avoid any kind of processed food. For instance, you could have for breakfast 1 cup of oats and a 2-3 boiled eggs. For lunch and dinner, you could get 200-300g of any protein you like (fish , beef, chicken) with lots of veggies and some quinoa, beans, or lentils. If you feel you are still hungry through the day just eat some nuts or 2 - 3 servings of fruits. Good luck !
  5. Since you sat it's only a brief communications paper I think it should not take him more than 1 week. In my case, when I was in a hurry to get feedback from my advisor I used to give him a call.
  6. Real pen and notebook user here, but thinking very seriously on getting an Ipad pro to have everything in one single place. Getting tired of looking for old notes that I wrote several years ago.....
  7. Hey guys, I'd appreciate if you can evaluate my profile for PhD in Electrical Engineering. Really getting very anxious about the admission process... Here are my stats: Concentration: Control, signal processing and communications Background: BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from an unknown south american university, but the best in the country and ABET accredited Rank: Class topper in BS and MS. GRE: Q:166, V: 151, AWA:3.5 TOEFL: 106 Research: I did research in IC design during BS and in control during MS. First author of 5 conference papers ( 3 published, 1 accepted, 1 under review). All of them in IEEE international conferences and peer-reviewed, not top venues though. I got some funding to travel to these conferences and present my work. Teaching: TA in seven courses in the past two years. LORs: 2 letters from advisors of my BS and MS thesis and who are coauthors of my papers. They know me well but are not known in the field. The other letter is from a professor who worked as a research scientist in the USA, however, it's "good student" letter. Job experience: Internship in control engineering 3 years ago. Universities I plan to apply: MIT Caltech UC Berkeley U of Washington (Seattle) U of Michigan Ann Arbor UCSD UCLA UC Riverside Northeastern UC Irvine Thanks !
