  1. Thanks for your suggestion! So I just need to stress on the difficulties I overcame, rather than the mental disadvantages during that days.
  2. Hi everyone, I'm also working on my applications for these days. I haven't taken a GRE examination, so the only chance for me is the late November one, which seems to be risky anyway. As my relative advantage lies in working experience (a founder of a startup, one EdTech app with 300,000+ users), I think the most essential thing for me is to prepare a better SoP. LoR is a bit awkward for me since I don't have a supervisor after college and my undergraduate major is neither related to education nor to technology. Do I still need to send recommendations from my undergraduate institution?
  3. Good luck to you. I have experienced a certain degree of depressive disorder during the last 2 years of undergraduate, which in turn resulted in drastically drop in GPA. I have 3.0 overall, but in the first year, it can be somewhere near 4.0. What I have experienced is not related to academic life; it's because I started my own business and lost $200k from my investor and family. I managed to turn it into a profitable business later on, but the damage on the GPA is obvious. For now, I have written this experience without mentioning my symptoms, but I wonder what will happen if I write those down.
  4. Well, I'm still confusing about locating myself. I have a GPA score which seems to be ridiculous (4 in the first year, 3 overall average), but that's because I have set up an EdTech startup in China since my sophomore year. My major is Chinese from Beijing Normal University (#2 in Chinese in China), and I can get some recommendation letters from my professors. Yet I'm worried about how to solve the GPA.
  5. Since I haven't seen any related posts for 2019, let's begin with myself. Program/Concentration: TIE (Master)GRE Score: Not taken yetGPA: 3.0 undergraduate (I've been leading my startup since sophomore year)Work Experience: 4 years in EdTech startup as CEO; an EdTech product with 300,000+ global users Undergrad/Grad Institution (Public, Private, Ivy, etc..): One of the best normal universities in China (global ranking 200-300), Chinese Literature major Research Experience: Cooperating with local universities for their EdTech projects; one of which was listed in a national teaching project from Chinese MoE LoR/SoP: Since I don't have a supervisor for these years it's a bit difficult for me. Maybe from some professors that have cooperation. What Other Schools Are You Applying to: Stanford, Northwestern, UBC, UCL I'm both applying for EAS and EdTech... It's a bit awkward to say so, yet I have some more experience in the public sector in China, e.g holding a similar title to the city council here, having the chance to cooperate with local schools with my ed-tech products. Frankly speaking, I don't know if my targets are too high or not.
