I researched all Nu schools and had the results. Kean May be on the cheaper side for undergrad but it was definitely one of the most expensive in nj for a public school

Does the program make Facebook groups or do the accepted students do it on their own?? Looking for the William Paterson Facebook group.

As the deadline for commitment comes up I’m really stuck between Montclair and William Paterson, anyone have any opinions on either programs or know anything about them?? I can’t say their open houses were a lot of help for me to make this decision.

Just checked my portal, got waitlisted as well

I haven’t

After getting accepted into a couple schools what my decision is really gonna come down to is money. I was really hoping for a graduate assistantship but it seems I won’t know until months after I have to commit to a program. It sucks because I’m not sure which programs I have more of a chance of getting an assistantship. Does anyone have experience with having to wait for assistantships or do you usually get them before April 15, especially for nj schools.

Kean Acceptances!? Going crazy!!

Nothing here either, they did say they are one of the later ones since they have to go through the interview process too -
No sadly I didnt! I had an interview so there was some contact but I haven’t heard a thing from Stockton.
-
Anyone hear anything from Stockton? They’re pretty much the last nj school that I haven’t heard anything at all from

I got an email for an interview for my Fall application today, I submitted my app about a few days before the deadline.

Same situation!!^

Has anyone gotten any other NJ results back?? I got a William Paterson acceptance today and I'm very surprised how early acceptances went out.

I just got the email I got through the initial review today and I should be notified about a decision by April 20... so far away

I decided to retake the test and got about the same scores to break the 300! thanks for the advice, I'd definitely recommend anyone else to do the same. I figured out that I messed up the argument essay so I definitely should have improved in writing, I definitely couldnt have done worse

So I got a 154 Q and 153 V on my gres but was very surprised by my AW score of a 3. I’m wondering if it’s worth taking it again as I’m nervous I may not break 300 the second time but my aw score is not good at all. Does anyone know if AW scores are really taken into account anyway? I have a good gpa, lor, and experiences but I don’t want this to get in the way of competitive nj admissions or a graduate assistantship.

GPA Based on School Difficulty
njslp2019 replied to dasher44's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
This is a really great question and I am not sure of the answer but I think mentioning your success of getting into such a good school and mentioning your determination while in that difficult school would help a lot -
unfortunately there are no slpa jobs in NJ or that would be my plan B. My plan B right now is to volunteer some more and work a year as a para or in a research lab but hoping for the best!

I'm having issues with LORs. Does anyone know how close to the deadline letters or recommendations can be submitted? Im not sure if they take a few weeks to process like other materials.
-
What are some stats of people that have gotten into schools in nj? Im wondering if it'll be less competitive if I apply out of state. Also, when did you get accepted around?

How long should my personal statement be? I keep reading one page in some blogs and two pages in others. Should I just make it enough to cover what I want to? And has anyone ever mentioned their research experience in personal statements or should I leave that to my resume?
