  1. Anyone heard from UCLA, Columbia TC, or SDSU/UCSD JDP for Clinical Psych PhD? I've seen a few results for them but I'd love any information that's out there, I know they tend to invite and interview later in Jan/Feb. Thanks
  2. I would suggest checking out the “results” tab on here which allows you to search for interview, acceptances, and invites from specific schools or programs. I heard from the Clinical Psychology program at John Jay on 1/4, I was invited to an interview on 2/1. I also connected with a few others on the grad cafe who received interview invites that day as well. Best of luck on your applications and don’t allow TGC to feed TOO much anxiety

  4. School: Simon Fraser University Type: PhD Clinical Psychology (I already have an M.A. from another institution) Date of Invite: Jan 11th, 2018 Type of invite: Email invitation to either a Skype or in-person interview Interview date(s): 02/01/19 Willing to share POI's initials over PM
  5. In my experience with clinical programs, this is common (though it could be uncommon for I/O). I've had multiple instances where I was not offered admission to the Ph.D. but encouraged to join the Master's program. In these instances, completing the master's at the program was not a guarantee of a later acceptance into the Ph.D. program, so take that into consideration if you're considering accepting the offer!
  6. This is my third round of applications so I understand how easy it is to get down on yourself when those invites/acceptances aren't rolling in. For me, it is a constant process of reminding myself how competitive these programs are and reminding myself to be proud of my accomplishments up to this point. Even just following through to submit 18 applications is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! I barely survived doing 10 this year... Your value is NOT dependent on your acceptance into a program or your recognition by a school. Every single one of us applying to these programs shows a tremendous amount of commitment and dedication to bettering the quality of life in our society and that is something to be proud of in itself. Each time you go through these application cycles you become smarter, stronger, and a better person by learning patience, how to manage anxiety, and how to process rejection. Most of all, I just remind myself that rejection is a universal experience, one that is felt by EVERYONE at some point in their life. Knowing there are others out there, in the exact same position, experiencing the same wave of emotions as I, gives me confidence that we will all come out on the other side as better people. Be your own #1 cheerleader and remember to also build yourself up and not just your applications. Confidence will naturally follow, even in the face of self-doubt and rejection. ❤️
  7. Looks like you have 6 other interviews, which is AMAZING!!!! Focus on the positive things you have coming in the next few weeks and don't let the process bring you down.
  8. Mine says "department reviewing file for program eligibility". This hasn't changed since I submitted the app in Oct.
  9. I am in exactly the same boat. I applied to 10 and only have one interview so far; but it only takes one! Wishing I had more but so thankful that my interview is at my top school. I hope you hear from more soon!
  10. Update from George Mason PI: All interview invites have been sent out; there is a small possibility for 2nd round interviews if other students decline offers.
  11. I've heard that rank of the school is no where near as important as the quality of your research experience and the prestige of you mentor (i.e. it'd be better to have a well-respected mentor at a not-so-well-known school than a so-so mentor at a top school). At the same time, It probably depends on you're ultimate career goal; if you're looking to be a professor at a prestigious college then maybe holding out for a top 10 ranked department would be your best option. Personally, I would feel SO lucky just to receive ONE acceptance offer I can't believe that someone would consider turning an offer down just for the chance to go to a "top" school! I'm just hoping for my personally ranked "top" school and a good match for my interests. I have paid 0 attention to the "official" school rankings.
  12. I applied and have not heard from them. The southern CA schools all notified towards the end of January the last few years and seem to be notorious for inviting only 2 weeks or so before the interview... I did read somewhere that someone got a rejection from SDSU/UCSD JDP, no other details. I'm right there with you, hang tight
  13. The settings are "anyone with link can access/edit", should be open access to everyone. Maybe you need to log in with a google account? Or changes some settings on your account
  14. School: John Jay College of Criminal Justice at City University New York (CUNY) Type: PhD Clinical Psychology Date of invite: January 4, 2018 Type of invite: Email from DCT Interview date(s): 2/1 with option for reception on 1/31 (gave option for skype/phone invite) Feel free to reach out for POI but there was not a specific person mentioned in my invite. Willing to share interests/applicant data if interested. P.S. this is my #1 school and my 3rd application cycle, I AM SHAKING IM SO EXCITED. Don't give up hope on your dreams!
  15. Not sure if this is what you’re referring to, but it is useful for seeing confirmed interview dates! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hJFI7od93wXNHfLiUl0pv4lPUsueRmVg_6N85xgFQd8/htmlview
  16. I've tried to find experiences as related to what I want to study as possible, but as you say, it's not always an easy task to find something in your intended field. Myself, I hope to eventually do research in juvenile justice and child trauma, so I've pursued research in child protection, victim services, and criminology. I couldn't find experiences directly in juvenile justice in my geographical area so I found related paths and pursued the opportunities available to me. My mentor from an R1 school told me the most important thing is that you've had experience engaging in multiple aspects of the research process (i.e. not just data entry, also analysis, literature review, data collection, etc.) and that your experience was somewhere with a good reputation, whether that's a university, a lab, an organization, or just an individual mentor, they should publish quality research. Having publications or conference presentations is a great way to demonstrate your ability as well, so look out for those kinds of opportunities in preparing for the next cycle as well. Best wishes in your application process!
  17. At this point in time (mid-December) I would not take that as a rejection at all! Some schools will do preliminary phone interview for candidates that may or may not be a good fit before deciding on an official invite. Some send multiple rounds of invites or have alternate interview groups. Some schools will just send 1 mass interview email and that's it. Have hope for now but If it gets to be mid-january or early February and you still haven't heard, I would assume it is a rejection as most schools make decisions in mid february-early march.
  18. Congratulations! That is an awesome school. I'm still waiting to hear back from my PI in the Child track ?
  19. For those posting about Columbia invites, are those for Columbia Teacher’s College Clinical or for a different program?
  20. I have no idea! I think I found it in another thread. I took it upon myself to do some formatting and share with all the main boards so we can get some decent data
  21. This is a google doc of some compiled interview/acceptance/rejection data, all in one place. Feel free to add your own data or to just stalk like me https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hJFI7od93wXNHfLiUl0pv4lPUsueRmVg_6N85xgFQd8/edit?usp=sharing
