Hey All, I was just accepted to CU Boulder and it is my top choice so, assuming funding works out (will know in march), ill be moving out that way. Does anyone have any experience with the on-campus grad housing? My main concern is its availability. Assuming things work out in march, would i still be able to successfully get into grad housing while applying in mid-late march?
  3. You'll definitely be able to get a great funding package. Play them off each other and make them fight for you!
  4. I applied in IR and haven't heard anything either. Going off the past reports it seems that PSU sends out their acceptances in early Feb, and then their rejections in late Feb. Leaving most of us in limbo for a while
  5. For their professional MA programs i suggest you head on over to the "Government Affairs" forum which is under the "Professional" tab. This forum mainly deals with PhD applicants applying for academic oriented programs.
  6. One of the posters said that its the POI who reach out personally, so i would think that it would take a couple days.
  7. I did not, But i do know that its an amazing school! The Korbel program is one of the best ones in the country. It out performs some of its rival schools in DC. I hope you get in!!!
  8. This is great advice! I also want to point out that the Big 10 has a Fee waiver program for their schools (and Chicago). This applies to graduates from their school. You’ll have to go through their system and apply to each schools fee waiver separately. Some are easier to get then others. I’m not sure if this is a uniquely Big 10 thing, or if other sports conferences have something similar, but it’s worth a shot to check!
  9. Thank you so much! ALSO, I'm not seeing any rejections out yet, so not sure what that timeline will be, but I do know that CU likes to hold a large waitlist so if you don't receive either an acceptance or rejection then I would assume you're on that. I know last year they drew alot of students from it.
  10. Hey, you should jump over to the “government affairs” sub section under the “professional programs” area. They deal more with professional MA and MPA programs. this forum mostly deals with academic political science programs.
  11. Probably spam. It happens a lot especially with Harvard
  12. So for like the past couple years CU has consistently come out on the last week of January. Don’t know why this year they decided to be extra and wait longer
  13. They are paying for wait-listed students to come to their visit weekend? Wooooooooooow, guess that oil money is really helping them.
  14. I was told to make the SOP into three parts. What you want to study in grad school (research interests), what you have done to prepare for doctoral study (research experience and undergrad stuff), and why you want to attend this school (department fit). the first two sections can really be reused but the third one obviously has to be unique for each school.
  15. I think michigan did the same thing last year, like only accepting 4 people or so. Last year the word was the previous year they'd had a very high yield so they weren't accepting alot of new students.
