  1. I've been accepted to UNL but I won't be able to visit the campus before I'll need to make a decision. They are one of the schools I'm considering, but it is 8-10 hours from me. They gave me incredible funding, I have family in Omaha, and my dad is an alum. I was wondering if there are any current grad students I can talk to, or if anyone has been able to visit and meet with faculty/current students and wouldn't mind talking to me about it! Thanks in advance ?
  2. I would definitely recommend taking chemistry!!! Physics is incredibly hard if it doesn't come to you right away, and you don't want to be worrying about a pre-requisite more than your actual SLP classes. Like another person said, there are some physics components in the more hearing-related classes as well as the speech science class, but I don't think you need an entire physics class in order to succeed in the class.
  3. I'm sure this is a very very dumb question, but I can't help overthinking everything. University of Illinois is having an admitted students visit day and from 10-12 it says "drop in for informal conversations..." and more but I'll spare you the details. Does this mean I can show up any time between 10 and 12 or should I plan on being there by 10? I think I know the answer, I just need some verification.
  4. Sorry, I'm super nosy ? Do you guys mind if I ask what your stats were?
  5. Hi there! I just got accepted to Purdue's program last Tuesday and I'll give ya all my credentials and stuff haha I'm a senior right now, my overall GPA is 3.97 and CSD is also 3.97. I got a 153 verbal, 155 quant, and 5 analytical. In high school, I had experience working with the special education classes which is what lead me to the world of SLP. I worked as an ABA therapist summer of 2018, and currently work as a behavioral specialist for a company that works with families. I've mostly been working with foster kids. I also have done some research work for a professor. A little bit over the summer but mostly Fall 2018 semester. Hope this helps. It seems like you've got great credentials and would be a really good candidate!
  6. I'm still waiting to hear from them as well!! Glad I'm not the only one who looked up when they sent stuff last year-- thought I was crazy for that ahah
  7. Oh perfect! I just really wanted to hear what some of the students liked and disliked about the program, are there opportunities for TA/GA/RA positions, do you have to do a thesis to be involved in research, etc. etc.
  8. Hi! I was accepted to University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and I was wondering if there were any current graduate students attending UIUC that I could message and talk to about the program.
  9. Ohhhh okay! Yes, the normal due date was January 5th! Congratulations on getting accepted! That must be a huge weight lifted off your chest!
  10. Hi sorry to be nosy hahah but I also applied to UIUC and I was wondering when you heard back from them!
