In Boston University limbo, does anyone know if they are still sending out waitlists/acceptances? Or are they staggering rejections because they might as well draw out the best part of their job?

Rejected by UM through the U-M Friend portal. Had false hope about making a few cuts for waitlist decisions. Green potatoes.

Thank you for a reply! Might be able to get fafsa loans (already submitted) which could carry me through tuition. Working on submitting scholarship applications too. I could take a year off to work, but my application for next cycle wouldn’t be much different I think. I wrote a senior honors thesis to try and produce the best writing sample I could (but I of course could still work on it). And my letters of rec would most likely have to be the same (I’m a transfer student from a city college so I didn’t have much time to get to know professors), and one of my professors turned in his letter of rec a month and a half late to one school (to most other programs it was a month late). I had to get the director of my department to contact him to turn them in, so I don’t know if I want to deal with him again. I’m an undergrad from a bottom top 50 PGR program, gpa 3.9, philosophy major gpa 3.91. Gre scores pretty much abysmal because of the financial burden. Thanks again for the help.

Getting rejected from almost everywhere (PhDs). Have three schools left out of seven. Have two masters offers from international schools in the UK (Edinburgh, St. Andrews/Stirling joint program) but no funding. Waiting on GSU. Wat do?

Last year (according to the results page) Irvine released some acceptances on February 12 for their Philosophy PhD program. Their logic and philosophy of science program decisions came a bit later. Hopefully will hear back this week.

Washing the dishes has become therapeutic because I actually accomplish something ?

As an undergrad, I thought it best to write a senior honors thesis in order to produce a good writing sample. Took about 6 months. Met with my advisor every other week to sometimes every week for about 2 hours to discuss material and my paper. Complete length is around 45 pages. Topic is on posthumous harm in the philosophy of death. To stay in the recommended length of around 15-20 pages for a writing sample, I indicated on the document which sections to read, totalling around 20 pages. Several hours, several "I don't think this argument works." Oscillating confidence in it, mostly positive though. We'll see if rubbing David Hume's toe actually brings some good luck.

The MSc at the University of Edinburgh (rolling basis). St. Andrews / Stirling joint program (SASP) is also on a rolling basis.

Also rejected by UNC Chapel Hill.
