I will be attending Temple in the fall of 2019 for a Criminology PhD

I was told in my funding letter that I will either be attached to a research lab or will be assigned classes to TA for from my department.

Taking a funded position at Temple $19k with health insurance and full tuition coverage.

Got offered the funded position at Temple today!

We’ll see, I do hope so

What was your Temple answer?

I really think they are trying to get me a funded position. I actually talked to Jerry Rattcliffe today and he told me he wouldn’t even let me come and work with him if it wasn’t a funded position because it would be too much of a burden.

Yeah, my mentors told me I really shouldn’t accept an unfunded position. I was just excited when I wrote that so I feel now as if I won’t accept it if it is unfunded.

Just got an email from Dr. Groff at Temple saying that I am not offered one of the funded positions right now, but in the next few weeks they hope that I will be! I guess I’m on the waitlist for a funded spot. I may still go even if I don’t get funded.

I mean I get it, free alcohol

My mentors and other faculty all ended up there because of the free alcohol

And Rutgers has that open bar!

The cost of the entire process to be honest, and I felt out where my best chances were at ASC.

No I don’t live in Philadelphia, he is dating my mentor at CSULB so I see him when he comes around. I didn’t get an interview and UCI and only applied to the 3 programs

I haven’t talked to anyone at Temple, but I see Jerry Rattcliffe frequently and he said they ran behind in letting the results out. I have spoken with Dave Hargrin at UCI and he said decisions are still underway when we last spoke

No acceptances elsewhere yet, and only one rejection from ASU. But my mentors here have reworked the budget of our research lab to keep me on until the end of the year with pay, where I will attempt to get publications out as well as improve my GPA and grades even further.

It could be, I want to work with Jerry Rattcliffe, who is my current mentor’s boyfriend. He likes me and my work and thinks we’d be a great fit, just depends on if the school believes that.

I hope so. Were you the one that posted recently that they got rejected when you search for Temple on the home page?

Ahh man I am feeling a sense of dread and rejection from Temple.

I have a friend who got her acceptance from Temple mid April

I sent my application in like December 9th, and my letters were turned in the 15th. The deadline, it would be shitty of them to have decided on the 22nd or by then if all materials got in then.
