NYU freakout begins ... now! Saw that someone posted to the results that they were accepted (congrats!!!). Was this the online or in-person program? Let me know if anyone else hears anything soon! Last year people began to find out on the 28th, so my anxiety is hitting a week early, lol .
Hi friend!! First, so glad that you created this thread. I've found it so helpful as I have been (and will be) a huge ball of anxiety because of waiting, and it's nice to read these posts from others. I want to latch on to your updates as well; I'm also applying to Portland State and UW (both programs, but MedSLP preferred) - these are two of my top choices so I feel very invested in any info surrounding them. Wishing you the best of luck and hope we can chat about these programs once decisions begin coming!!
Greetings from a 2019 applicant! Saw this thread up in my recents and thought I'd comment. I visited NYU (out-of-state) for a prospective student session in the fall and applied there. I've noticed that a lot of individuals from New York apply to many schools in the state besides NYU (or it doesn't seem as common) -- I'm curious if there's a reason for this, and being in-state you may have more insight. Please share if you want to!
Hey there! I actually didn't apply to any of these schools, but did visit NYU in the fall for a prospective student session and applied there. I've seen other posters from NY apply to a lot of in-state schools besides NYU. Just curious if there was a reason for this (being in-state you may know more about their program/have reasons for not applying). Let me know if you feel like sharing, and good luck with your schools!!
Hey there! First, I'm so sorry that you received those discouraging words from your professor. I'm an undergraduate CSD student at the University of Kentucky now and I know a lot of people in my class (and grad students in the program) who have GRE scores similar to yours or lower. Our advisors told us to shoot for a 300 to be safe, but that past students accepted had scores down in the lower 290s. Your AW score seems good based on people that I've talked to! Your research and clinical experiences are going to be really important and I feel that UK places a lot of value on this since they have the attached Academic Clinic and great opportunities leading to medical speech.
Of course I can't be certain about any of that but hope that this helped some. Best of luck to you! I also applied to UW MedSLP and UK, so let me know if you want to chat more about either!
Gotcha! And after submission it said by the end of February, but of course I can't sit still about it and began looking into results from last year. I need to be more patient! Good luck to you too!!
Hi all, I noticed on the results search that this week last year is when GWU began updating applicants with decisions. Of course this could be different this year, and with rolling admissions it's hard to predict when exactly they will be sent out. BUT for anyone who has applied, if you happen to get an update this week, please let me know! Curious to know when it will begin. :)
