  1. I was able to observe on weekends at skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers! Not sure this would work for you but it may be worth checking out
  2. Hi!!! Did you (or anyone) ever figure out this info about FAFSA? I need to call the financial aid office and chat with them but also don't want to ask super obvious questions. I feel really in the dark about all of it though!
  3. On their website (https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/loans/plus/grad-professional#eligibility) it says that if you don't have good credit you have these options: Obtaining an endorser who does not have an adverse credit history. An endorser is someone who agrees to repay the grad PLUS loan if you do not repay it. Documenting to the satisfaction of the U.S. Department of Education that there are extenuating circumstances relating to your adverse credit history.
  4. Thank you! This was really helpful. I'll keep my eye out for it!
  5. I'm also worried about this! I don't have too much debt from undergrad but will be taking out the max federal loan (~20K) and will still owe around 10K + living expenses. I haven't talked with the financial aid office yet, but I'm assuming the only way to have the rest of this covered is through private loans, right? Leaving out options of scholarships, assistantships, and work study (want to plan for worst case). Does anyone have any experience obtaining private loans? Are they fairly easy to get?
  6. Declining GW, NYU, and UK for now. Will decide between my last 2 soon. Hope this helps!
  7. Is anyone attending the Admitted Students Day on April 5 (or other dates)? I'm most likely going to accept my MedSLP offer but I'd really like to visit UW and Seattle before doing so as I've never been and it will be a really big move for me across the country. However, the deposit is due shortly after that and I'm afraid that I'll be really stretched thin for money after buying my flight, airbnb, etc. for the visit - I can make it work, but it will just be really financially stressful to do, haha. Does anyone have any advice? Should I just plan on attending the online session instead?
  8. Has anyone heard from UofL recently? I haven't since my interview on 3/1 and curious when they'll be sending out decisions, or if they have been already and I just haven't heard! Edit: just kidding, just checked my email and had one from them. Ignore!
  9. Just received my email with acceptance! Super excited. They said that members of faculty would be calling next week to answer any questions that we may have, which I thought was really nice!
  10. I haven't received one yet! Crossing fingers that it'll come soon! Congrats to everyone accepted
  11. Congrats to everyone!!!! I *cried* hahaha congrats !!!!! and congrats to everyone else :)))
  12. Emails coming out. I hope everyone receives good news! Good luck!
  13. Following! Good question and very interesting. Do you (or does anyone) happen to know if it's possible or common to become involved in ROTC for the first time at the graduate level? Have always looked into it but ended up not doing it in undergrad.
  14. Hi all! Curious if anyone has spoken with the department or has an idea of when we may be hearing back. It's unfortunate that my expectations are set based on when individuals began finding out last year (3/3). So... what to do besides spend an unhealthy amount of time on this site? Good luck to everyone!
  15. On another note, if you all end up visiting and talk to any current students about housing options, please share! This is one of my concerns (expense, availability, and distance from campus). My friend at GW Law visited DC multiple times before school started but all of the places she had looked at became unavailable on short-notice, and it seems like that's just how it goes. She luckily found a place a couple of weeks before she moved (expensive but close to campus). I'm not from a big city, so housing being so unpredictable isn't what I'm used to at all - but worrying about running out of options may be silly?
  16. Revisiting this because I have an unhealthy obsession with checking to see if anyone has posted about it yet. I should never have been so dead-set on the Feb 28 date, omg! Crossing my fingers that we'll know sometime this week.
  17. GW Graduate Admissions emailed it out on 3/1. If you message me your email I can forward it to you! I believe it's a gathering for all accepted graduate students and not just specific to CSD (someone correct me if I'm wrong!) - is the open house department specific? I think I must have missed the announcement for that. Edit: thanks, @samiamslp for posting that!
  18. In the same boat as you all. I hope to go to the Accepted Students Day as well but unsure if I'll be able to yet. If I don't, I may reach out to you all to see what I missed!
  19. In-person or online program for NYU? I've seen quite a few online applicants post their results over the last couple of weeks. The past 2 years in-person program applicants posted results starting on Feb 28, but someone said that they called and were told that this year it will be mid to late March. There's a forum here, feel free to post when you hear something!
  20. Curious to know how interviews went if anyone wants to share! I've heard very mixed things - some went really well and others not so much
  21. Starting to think it’s not going to come out today. Ugh!
  22. I really hope so! I’ve been getting my hopes up that it will since it did last year. Trying to be patient but it’s SO HARD
  23. I'm interviewing there on Friday as well and I know a couple of other people in my class that have the same interview time as I do... I'm curious if this will be a group interview or if they just have multiple faculty members there conducting separate ones
