If I hadn’t heard back about interviews with a POI I had contact with before I applied, is it bad to contact that POI about interviews?

also, for schools i haven't heard back from... is it bad to reach out and ask status of application? and for those who have received rejections, how are you receiving them?

random question, but does anyone know if schools drug test their students before admission into clin psych programs? if they do, does anyone know when? thanks!
