  1. @brillantina thank you for letting us know! And also thanks to @grlldchz for keeping us in the loop as well. Anyone else happen to hear anything from Hunter?
  2. Congrats @grlldchz that’s really great, and thanks for sharing your info for Hunter. Seems like a lot of us are still pretty on edge. I’m wondering whether they’ll even conduct interviews this year? Looks like they’re running out of time with that deadline. Also, I just looked at the film school forum again and I’m surprised to see that NYU is throwing an accepted student lunch before they’ve even contacted all the people they’ve interviewed about their status? I get that there’s still waitlist possibilities, it just seems a little cold to start planning a party without letting the rest of the applicants know where they stand. But to everyone who has gotten good news from anywhere, congrats!
  3. That’s really great info! Thanks so much!
  4. That’s really strange. So no one other than @RoryGilmore has heard from NYU even though the screenplay/television forums are going nuts with buzz? I guess that’s good news because I assumed I was the only one. (I was writing my NYU obituary in my head already). But also that’s really...strange? As far as Columbia, it looks like these are the prime days for them to request interviews (between now and mid-late March). For Brooklyn, I can find no evidence they even interview. And Hunter...I think this is the first year they don’t require the GRE and they pushed back their deadline twice, plus the faculty switch-ups, so the information available really isn’t applicable. I didn’t apply to Brown but I totally feel your pain. Bottom line: I think we’re all in it for the long run, but at least NOBODY is hearing back rather than just a few of us. I can’t imagine it’ll be too long before they open the floodgates and we’re all overcome with happiness/devastation/both.
  5. Sorry @RoryGilmore that really sucks.
  6. And to add onto that, did anyone hear from NYU yet? It looks like screenwriting/TV portfolio people are getting a lot of interviews, but the playwriting portfolio people so far have heard crickets.
  7. Heads up: Someone over on FilmSchool.org got an NYU interview request, so they’re likely coming today. Looks like they send them out slowly and sometimes over a set few days, so I guess don’t panic?
  8. @RoryGilmore It will say that until everything arrives and is processed. And then the waiting game. I’ll also be applying to Hunter. I’m glad they have such a generous deadline considering not only is my portfolio play ten times better, but I’ve actually gotten several workshops, readings, and a ten minute play production to add to my resume that none of the other programs have gotten to see. Literally happens each time I apply to anything—a few days later, I get something that would have looked GREAT on my resume for said application. UGG. @captbakacongrats on the interview!
  9. @RoryGilmore Hi friends! I’ve been stalking these threads for a while now, and I actually have an answer to a question so I’ll post! I don’t know if they’re reading submissions yet at Brooklyn College, but my application and all the materials have been complete for a while now, and just the other day my portal went from the “Your application will be sent” to “Your application has been sent”. And something to the tune of I’ll be notified by mail. But looks like on the results page they only notify by mail if it’s a rejection. At this point I’m not confident with any of my applications anymore so I don’t know how helpful I can be. I’ve slowly been making revisions to portfolio and the work is SO MUCH stronger now. But we shall see. I’m basically planning my writing year next year around the idea I won’t be getting in anywhere and I’ll have to re-apply, that way I’m not caught off guard come this summer when/if I’m not setting my enrollment somewhere. Better to go in it with things planned to strengthen my applications for next round!
