This. Would love to know this as well!
So for my presentation, I did mine on implementing a discharge tool at my workplace. Usually a specific topic that's relevant to you or you're passionate about would be best. In terms of the questions, they are usually your standard interview questions regarding conflict resolution, future career goals, why health informatics etc. They are there to just see your thought processes and how you communicate so don't overthink the interview but definitely prepare your answers. Hopefully that was helpful. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Anyone heard back from Waterloo yet? Either offer or rejection?
I had an offer from Waterloo two weeks ago.

Thank you! Will you be accepting UofT?! I know you were waiting to hear back from UW.
Yup I'll be joining you at UofT!! I'm still waiting to hear back from UW but my first choice was UofT so I'll be happily accepting my offer.

Congrats @sun.flower! Good luck to everyone else ?

Did you have to request for an early acceptance based on certain circumstances?
Nope. I actually didn't even know early acceptance was a thing.

Congratulations! When was your interview?
9 hours ago, ella223 said:congrats! what time did you receive your offer?
Thanks!! My interview was on March 4th and I received the offer through email around 2pm yesterday. It was an early admission though and I have to complete some extra stuff (that's why they sent it to me early) but I think everyone should be hearing back by March 29th.

I heard back from UofT but nothing from Waterloo yet. I'm hoping they're still sending out emails.

Hey, I’m with you! I felt like the person who listened to my presentation was so uninterested. ?. What questions did Julia ask?
I remember her asking a lot of questions about how I can incorporate my clinical skills while working in an analytic position. As well, in my opinion, what is the biggest health issue in the community and what solution can I come up with to fix that. Also, am I an innovator or fixer? I think out of all the interviewers, I had the most natural interview process with Julia.

The questions after the presentation portion itself was scenario based for me. However, for the other 2 portions, they're more behavioural based.
Tho wanted to clarify that the scenario based questions were specific to my presentation. They don't just randomly ask about a topic in health informatics. Good luck guys!!

Hey @M.Shelley, were the questions after the presentation portion more behavioural-based (i.e. general job interview questions) or scenario-based? Thank you!
The questions after the presentation portion itself was scenario based for me. However, for the other 2 portions, they're more behavioural based.

How did your presentations go? Mine is day after and I'm so nervous!
Don't worry too much about the presentation. It's one on one and everyone is very nice. They asked me a couple of challenging questions but they're not looking for a right answer just how you think. Good luck ?

Hey,
For others who have already had an interview, was your presentation done in a one-on-one format as well?
Yup everything is one on one and you rotate between 3 people. The written portion is done with 2 other people in the same room.

Yep same! Do you guys know what Zoe meant by this (for the presentation)? 'It is recommended that you bring a PowerPoint presentation viewable from a 1-page handout'
I'm assuming you mean the research part? I was confused by this as well but I just added some stats to back up the stuff I'm saying. Most of my presentation involves sharing my own experiences.

Haven't heard anything as well. My status still says application.

How is everyone preparing for their interviews? I am so nervous.
Me too! I'm still doing research for my presentation, which is the part i'm most nervous about. I'm also coming up with examples I want to use for the behavioural questions and practicing those. Not sure if I should be doing more to prepare tho.

I submitted my application Jan 31st as well

Congrats to those whose got an interview lined up for March 4th and thanks for your reply. I'm hoping to still get an interview invite. For those who have interview lined up, are you required to prepare a presentation this year? I think in previous years they wanted a five minute power point prepared. Thanks again.
Thank you. Hopefully you'll get one soon. Good luck!! Yup I think it's the exact same format as last year with the written component, behavioural questions and 5 min presentation.

Guys they're sending out emails now!! Just got mine and my interview is on March 4th.

Congratulations on getting an interview!! The questions for the written assessment usually concerns broad topics in health informatics. There is really no specific way to prepare for it but I recommend just reading more into the current ehealth landscape and understand what the trends are and where we're heading for the future. Good luck!
