First time poster. I got an email from Lisa from Iowa late last night for an interview, hope that helps.
Just found this forum, and it is truly amazing. Thank you all for the information and kind energy. It's such a nerve-wracking process, living in the unknown. This is giving me waves of relief.

Just got an interview with NYU! I was really starting to feel like a total reject since is this my third cycle, so I'm very relieved! 

I had my NYU interview and I felt very nervous going in so I wanted to help the peeps out who have upcoming interviews. I had read on this forum that your interviewer may have not read your play, so I prepared for that. To my surprise, my interviewer had read my play and we had a great discussion about it. I would say be prepared to talk more about your play. That may seem like a given, but talking about your own play can be hard, so coming in with your main pitch ready to go will make you feel so much better. And there will be a lot of time for questions so make sure to come in with a list, the more the better! I would also definitely suggest looking into the mirror before your interview and saying: I'm the hottest, smartest, coolest playwright in the world. ~~manifesting~~

Hi peeps! Just got my Carnegie Mellon acceptance! It's for their Stage and Production Management program though so I have no info about playwriting. I interviewed with them on the 11th. 

mega-creepy lurker here - had an interview with Brown early this morning. just wanted to let folks know, but don't give up hope! schools might be doing rolling meetings, have some other admissions delays, etc., who knows? i literally thought i was rejected until i got the email!

Just received an interview request from NYU via email! (for all those following NYU's Dramatic Writing)
Looks like last year's requests came out in batches throughout the last week of Feb, so keep an eye out!

I don't know if anyone else applied to UCLA, but I figure it could be helpful to say I just heard back from them and got an interview for next week! Its nice to hear about everyone's progress!

Not a playwriting applicant but popping in here anyway because it's the closest related active thread I can find!
I applied to Carnegie Mellon's Stage & Production Management MFA program and got an interview invite on February 1st. Had the interview last week and they said I'd hear back by mid March. 
I also applied to UNCSA (University of North Carolina School of the Arts) and was accepted back in November. 

Update to the update:
So I found out the 2nd interview is actual casual one-on-ones with the current cohort at UCSD. They were all really awesome and kind, it was a nice "getting to know you "and do you have any questions?" They did this with 4 ppl, I did two meet ups on Sunday, and two on Monday.
Got the call from Naomi early this morning, I'm in! Still processing. It's a quick turn around, have 48 hrs to respond. It's my top choice school so I'm very thankful, I just have to weight it between a job offer at the theatre I work at and love. Stats wise, 94 ppl applied this year, which Naomi made sound was above normal.
Thank y'all for the support through this process, y'all the realest! I know it's a stressful time, and this was only my 2nd round. Sending out good vibes and good luck!

Update: Got an email from Naomi today saying I should expect to hear from the current MFA cohort soon for a 2nd interview, and for me to ask them any questions I have about the program and their experience. 

They asked me how I feel about collaborating with other artists and about plays I want to write. And then a few follow up questions based on one of my answers. Then they asked about what I do other than writing. So idk they could have read the application but they never referenced it or asked questions related to it you know what I mean? They also did not ask any follow up questions from the 10 minute  presentation of my plays that you have to give before the questions portion. Idk it just felt weird to me. Maybe that’s how all the interviews go but it just felt very impersonal to me.

Hey has anyone had their new school interview yet? I had mine already. Idk how I feel about it. It felt very impersonal like they haven’t even read the application haha. How did everyone else feel?

Hi hi -- if this is helpful, I did a panel with Playwrights Realm a couple weeks back about MFA Playwriting programs, and they just posted the panel here. Schools represented: UCSD, Brooklyn College, Yale, and Ohio U. It taught me a lot about those other schools and how different the programs are. Tanya's take on Brooklyn might be particularly helpful, based on previous questions on here.
Though we all agree: Do not go into debt for your MFA.

Ok, so I wasn't the only one who got that email the other day, haha. Honestly though, I liked getting a more genuine rejection email instead of the auto-generated "we regret to inform you..." one from before.

I accepted my offer from Ohio. And I’ve turned down Northwestern (maybe opening up a spot for someone else!!) Thanks everyone for the support and laughs throughout this process. Best of luck to everyone!!
