So one of the two faculty I mention in my Brandeis SoP is on sabbatical. Does this mean they could be waiting for him to review my app or am I being too hopeful? Anyone have experience with this situation?

I’m still waiting for a Brandeis decision. In my view, if you haven’t heard, you are still in the running until you’ve heard otherwise from the program! We can be hopeful. Best of luck!

Right. I'm expecting some rejections to be mixed in today as well. SOMETHING. On a separate issue, am I the only person here who has gotten no answer either way from any grad program?! I'm totally in the dark. After today, I think I shall safely assume I am in the "shutout" category. ?‍♂️

Is there anyone here who can give an update on Northeastern? They sent out some rejections and a few interview/campus visits, but no acceptances yet (at least on the board). Does anyone know when these campus visits take place? Meanwhile, I haven't received any word. Any insight is appreciated!

@CaffeineCardigan Ok. I'm waiting to hear from Brandeis as well. I guess I'm too much of an optimist. Sometimes weird last-minute acceptances happen! All the best to you, though.

I'm sorry to hear this news. Did you get a response from Brandeis?

I just like tea. Always have. Too much caffeine gives me heart palpatations and keeps me up all night. Two things I don’t need more of right now. Besides, I have certain teas for certain times. Black tea in the morning, green tea for the afternoon pick-me-up, cinnamon tea as my “snack tea,” and chamomile to calm me down at night. I do have others in the rotation, but this pretty much sums up my basic tea-infused (get it?) day.

Goodness, what a crazy process this is! I still have some hope left in me, but it’s fading fast. Just about 7 more days left in what is supposedly “the big month.” I’d like to hear anything at this point. Congrats on your acceptance! Also sorry about the UW rejection.

@sugilite @kendalldinniene Same here. My portals give the impression that the committees haven’t even touched my application. Yikes. I’m still in the radio silent camp.

Someone on another forum contacted Brown and got a pretty generic message stating that no decisions have been sent, but will be sent out in the next few weeks. "Gee, thanks" was my sentiment upon reading that post.

@stressbot3000 This is why we all call it "purgatory." I did not apply to UVA, but I'm chiming in for emotional support. Best of luck to you! Hopefully you get some good news soon.

@WildeingOut I know exactly how you’re feeling. I’m still waiting on Brandeis, for example. They started with rejections earlier this month, then today was a batch of waitlists. So I don’t know what to assume or think at this point. The notifications seem somewhat arbitrary, especially in comparison to past cycles. Maybe we all gave them a good run for their money this year!
