No change to mine. Guess it's not looking good for me ?

I found your last point rather interesting. Given current circumstances - e.g. italy in dire need of extra hands and support from experienced professionals who have clinical knowledge - why would "having China in EU's lawns" be "not great optics"? If we pull this out of context and plug it into other issues, say, 5G infrastructure, then yes i could understand there might be security, political, and other concerns. But in today's context, a global pandemic where italy is among the most suffered, in what sense is chinese assistance not desirable?

I agree we need more positive energy at this time of great uncertainty, something that could bring the already disintegrated people to solidarity, but i wouldn't call a global pandemic that is still rapidly developing a "small disease outbreak". acknowledging the severity of the current situation is as important as staying positive.

very. 53% of the student body is international. students at Harris have a pretty even distribution of working experience. 40% 0-1 year, 27% 2-4 years, and 33% 5+ years. details see https://harris.uchicago.edu/about/who-we-are/harris-by-the-numbers

yea I would love to talk about the pro/cons! i think they they are gonna pair us with a jackson buddy very soon. and i have a few video chats with professor and jackson staff scheduled for the upcoming weeks. from my research in the past a few days, i think the class size is the biggest pro. very small and intimate. the people in the program (staff and senior fellows) all seem to be very friendly and willing to interact with the students. they always give very thoughtful email replies. i did see in some previous grad cafe posts it is said that Levinsohn often hosts students in his house during the weekend. senior fellows are very good at referring students to industry contacts. i see my master program as a important stepping stone for my future career, so i think these networking opportunities are critical. it's hard to say if jackson presents more networking opportunities than, say, HKS, because the latter is apparently a much larger program, so I'll have to talk to more people to be sure. lastly, the flexible curriculum is a no-brainer for me - i can't be more excited about being able to design my own curriculum. ironically, a con for me is jackson's virtually non-existent industry lay-prestige. jackson is no yale law school, and as an international student who is undergoing dramatic career change, the industry reputation for my grad program becomes much more important. schools like HKS definitely have a stronger international draw. in addition, i only get half tuition, so that means i will have to pay a good amount out of my own pocket. i think i might negotiate, but not really sure how generous they are in turns of upping their offer. also i am a very hardcore movie goer. the fact that new haven does not have an IMAX theater really bothers me.

Harvard Law School does a rather good job by posting key dates of the application cycle. https://hls.harvard.edu/2020-vision-announcing-dates-for-the-upcoming-cycle/

new post!!!! and decisions coming next week
-
oh wow. that's stressful
-
are you able to log into the status portal or fin aid portal to check the status?
-
WWS just started to send out informal acceptances... i guess HKS would follow through shortly. I project the results to be posted today around noon, and financial aid letters sent either with the letter or in the afternoon. I think HKS was just tweaking the language in the acceptance letters regarding the admitted student meetups and events, thus the delay, while the fin aid decisions have already been made and ready to be sent. Fingers crossed for everyone & i hope we can hear back today and end the misery

the only evening-ish photo looks pretty day-time to me. and pay attention to the captions - one is "continental breakfast", another is "light lunch."
-
I don't see any night-time pictures in reading & decision posts? Do you mind sharing a link to one?
-
No telling. Many posts were posted within the 8:40-9:15 AM time frame. Today's post is by no means early.
-
the new post is a bit out of ordinary - too short to be qualified as an actual post? if i read between the lines, i feel like they are telling us that they might actually release the results today? if it weren't to be today, they would've just added "Will this be today? No." at the end just like before.
-
sammme!! maybe they are busy sending updates to the portals. i don't know if i should get my hopes up
-
no posts? this is unusual... what's HAPPENING??
-
we can do that when we all meet each other in cambridge
-
i might as well just prepare myself for a long miserable weekend lol
-
nothing's changed for me
-
usually admit and status release are two different posts.
-
so i just looked through all the posts in the past year, and it appears that there had never been one single day with more than one post. which means, there will be no more post today. which also means decision date is not likely to be thursday, unless the adcomm just feel extra generous today and release another post later today.
-
this is not looking good... does this mean friday??? noooo!
-
usually fin aid letter comes either with the acceptance or shortly after (within 24 hours), just in time to beat the WWS acceptances
-
yooo status update blog post is out! we are on track to our thursday release date! anxiety level spiked again. @spnfiim's prediction is right on point
