Heyyyy. I am a bit disheartened to see that UAlbany has actually reached out to offer holders and I am not one of them. Does anyone have an idea of the process? Do they reach out to the admitted students in one go? (I guess that's a silly question- most schools if not all don't)
I actually emailed the director of the sociology department yesterday and was told that I could expect to hear from them in the first week of February. Now I am thinking 'okay so I am probably one of the their rejections'.
Fingers crossed! Any other UAlbany applicants?
So far people who got in are notified via email rather than website on the same day. We got emails saying the status has changed on a later date... I am hoping for a waitlist.
We don't know for certain but it is very likely. Umass appear to receive loads of applications each year and god knows how many they take, if you look at the results section each years a lot more people posted rejection and only a few had favorable news (I am counting waitlist offer as favorable). So far, 3 already posted acceptance.
Thank you! I am hoping temple will take me but 3 people already posted acceptance and I saw in the results section that temple takes 5. Syracuse might be my last hope.
What are your other schools?
Do you know how many students they take on each year? I am international and 2 international students already posted their acceptance. I don't think there's space for me anymore.
Well, I still have my cats.
Yep at first I felt hopeful but then I looked at the results posted by applicants from previous years. I think a rejection is highly likely. Did you receive any email from the department notifying you of the status change? I didn't.
I also applied to Temple, Boston University, Syracuse. I no longer think I can get an offer.
fingers crossed for the each of us. I also applied to Umass (different program) and my status changed to update pending a moment ago. IDK if this is a loss but I am feeling less than positive. Still, I am hoping for the best.
I can see myself in Amherst. I think I am a good fit.
Manifest!!!!
I feel your pain. I received a quick rejection from Minnesota (phd program in sociology rather than gender studies. Although the programs are different but the pain is the same.
I wasn't surprised. Actually, I was super calm when I opened the email as if I already knew...
I just need one funded offer. One would make me the happiest person on earth.
I feel you. We all share your pain.
BTW one of my programs is sending out decisions but my app status says "complete and ready for review" WTF
I am so sorry to hear that! I hope you and your wife will be okay.
I don't feel super nervous, but I check the grad cafe 100 times a day.
Yesterday I got my first rejection, which is expected. But it got me worried.
Fingers crossed for the each of us.
