I was in the second quadrant (don’t know where within it), but I’m guessing I was near the beginning due to other people getting accepted elsewhere and removing themselves from the list!

Just got off the Western waitlist this morning! That means they’re into the second quadrant now for those who are still waiting!

Is that something that I can do? I deduced this just from other people’s stats. This is my first time applying.

Unfortunately I already have two years experience working as a facilitator for an English Conversation club, so I’m looking for something that would add more variety to my application. If I can’t find any SLP experience, that would still be a good option for gaining general volunteer hours! Thank you so much for your response ???

Seeing as the waitlist for western is full, I’m assuming that I’m not going to get in this year. From what I could gather the weakest part of my application was having only 20 volunteer hours. I’m worried I won’t be able to improve that number much before the next application deadline due to corona. Is anyone out there still getting volunteer hours while this is all happening? Or do you have any tips? I would really appreciate any input ?

I’m also in the second quadrant (but I don’t know where)! If there are around 100 people on the wait list that would mean we are ~25-50, but that’s just my speculation. Do you mind pming me your stats? I hope you get your call!

Could anyone who has had to apply again give some advice on what do you with next year? I'm currently waitlisted at Western, but I feel like I have no game plan if I get rejected. I want to get relevant experience, but I also feel awful working minimum wage if I already have a degree ?. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make the most of the year, please let me know!

Waitlisted at Western! Another month of waiting...

Is anyone else on the waitlist for an MMI at McMaster? I'm checking my email like every 5 minutes hoping I'll get an interview offer. If anyone has gotten off the waitlist, please let me know! It would be nice to hear that someone has done it :) I'm not very hopeful because it doesn't make much sense to reject an interview offer... Hope everyone isn't too stressed out in the waiting process!

Hi all! I graduated from the u of a in the summer with a major in linguistics (honours) and minor in psychology. I’m applying to McMaster and Western. I’m having a really tough time getting a gauge on how good my chances are so if anyone can give me an idea, I would be so grateful! I have a cGPA ~ 3.5 and a sub GPA ~3.8-3.9. I still have yet to take one more stats prereq (which is not my strong suit) and I can’t seem to get higher than a B in my current anatomy prereq (will this hurt my application?). I will only have around 20 clinical volunteer hours when I apply but I’ve worked about 30 hours a week as an RA in two linguistics labs for a long time. I’m worried my lack of volunteer experience will be an issue, but I have lots of job experience working with and teaching kids of various backgrounds and abilities. I also wrote an undergrad thesis, but will that matter? Please let me know what you think and good luck to all ??
