  1. I have. They will be sending out offers on Monday for my weekend. I know some people have interviews as late as March though, so I think they’re still rolling through applications!
  2. Anyone looking for a tech position in neuropharmacology/circuitry underlying addiction, PM me!
  3. Not yet. I was offered Jan 24, Jan 31, or Feb 14. I chose feb 14 since I have interviews the other weekends.
  4. Lots of amazing tech/assistant positions will be opening up in the next few months for those of you that need another year of research experience! I know my P.I. is already looking so that I can train the next person. Be smart when you choose a position though, ask if you will have your own project/be allowed to really get immersed in 1 or 2 projects (as opposed to doing 1 technical skill and only dabbling in a project), ask if techs/assistants are given authorship or allowed to present at conferences, ask where the previous person went and how long they worked there (if they got into an awesome grad school this probably means it’s a good opportunity!) A lot of schools allow you to take courses for free as a full-time employee, so take a grad course (esp. if you have a low gpa)!
  5. Posted earlier in the thread! Feel free to PM me if you want any more specific info!
  6. To the people who haven’t heard anything, stay positive! There’s still time this round and if you don’t hear anything this round, there’s always next year! I got rejected from every program I applied to last year, but worked hard and let it motivate me and this year got an interview offer from every program I applied to.
  7. I posted about Tufts. I think there will be more invites. They only have one interview weekend and it’s a very popular weekend with schools so I had to decline and I imagine others will be in the same boat.
  8. Thank you! This is super helpful. They scheduled the interview weekend to align with a conference at their school so I don’t know if they’ll be open to a different weekend but asked nicely. I’m still very interested in the program so I just hope they don’t misinterpret it!
  9. Any suggestions for telling a school that you aren't available to interview the weekend they suggested because you already accepted another interview offer for that weekend?
  10. Still hope for Vanderbilt IGP interviews.. got the call today!
  11. Invited to interview with UNC BBSP and UMD neuro today, both by email
  12. Feedback appreciated! Here's my stats: undergrad GPA: 3.6 double major psychology and philosophy, university and psychology honors programs postbac GPA in the general sciences (I didn't take many of them as an undergrad since majors were psych and phil): 3.9 part-time grad studies in pharmacology at top grad school - no grades yet, just started in the fall Research Experience: 2 years in a behavior lab as an undergraduate - independent research as an honors student, 1 year research tech at a neuroscience/pharm lab at R1 institution with a well-known professor 1 co-author publication in top journal, 2 papers co-author under revision (one of my letter writers states which journals in her letter). 12 posters at big conferences, 3 first-author Letters very strong Applying to: UNC BBSP, Yale BBS, Duke Pharmacology, UMD Neuroscience, Tufts Neuroscience, Vanderbilt IGP - have reached out to professors and gotten a lot of interest Research interests: affective disorder circuitry, neuropharmacology
