  1. Oh that will be a really nice advice!! I agree about the housing. But to my knowledge, it seems that the vacancy is okay. Now the posts are almost about spring quarter and summer. I feel confused..
  2. There is a group about UCR housing in FB, maybe you can check there. I am also looking for someone sharing a apt. btw I was asked to joined a online meeting with faculty and students inside our dept next week. A bit nervous now. Due to the time difference, I may just wake up at that time.
  3. Hello monikasb! Thank you for your reply! Yes I choose UCR although I am still worried about whether it could be a "best" choice or not. Not so sure but I will go after my heart. I am excited about CA! I am used to hot weathers btw. I studied in Macau, if you know, a tropical city.
  4. Yes I heard that as well. Actually I am considering a house at the cross between Iowa and Chicago. 30 mins at walk and 10 mins by bike. I am not sure whether it is close enough or not ,especially when considering about how big the campus is... I have no idea about Riverside actually. I am an international applicant and never visit there.
  5. Hello everyone! I am a international student who focus on comparative literature. I recently got accepted by UC Riverside and U of South Carolina (let me call it usc..). Both full funded. well. Somebody say that if you're not admitted by schools ranked at Top50, you should not come. But based on my package, I think that is fine for me. I like California much better than south Carolina. But according to the NRC, the comparative literature in USC seems ranked higher than UCR.I feel confused. Could anyone give me some suggestion?
  6. really? That is so nice? I have not got it yet. Because tenichally speaking, I have not accept the offer online. I am checking details with my department. What do you learn about the housing? in-campus seems expensive.
  7. Hello I am attending UCRiverside this fall and got a few questions about the housing. I am new to California and do not know much about Riverside. I am thinking finding a place lower than 800/month. Is it practical to live in Crest Canyon? I heard that it is safe and close to the campus. And I am also thinking about in-campus housing? Could anyone give me some tips about pros and cons of living in campus and off campus? Besides, my monthly budget is around 1400 according to my stipend. Is is practical?
  8. I get their email for acceptance. How about you now?
  9. Hello, although the deadlines are approaching, I still want to ask if there are anyone available to look at my SOP for Comparative Literature? Thank you so much in advance!!!
