Describe Relevant Work Experience: n/a
Strength of SOP (be honest, describe the process, etc): Strong. I worked with a writing coach on this because writing has never been my strong point. I honestly had no idea what to write and she asked me a lot of questions to point me in the right direction and help me organize my thoughts.
Strength of LOR's (be honest, describe the process, etc): Eh. I waived my right to read them, but I'm not sure they were particularly strong. I've spent the last 1.5 years re-taking courses at my local community college so I asked my professors from these classes and also a former pastry coworker. I sent them a document about why I wanted to go to graduate school and what I wanted to do with my career, but I'm not sure how much of that they included in their letters.
Other: I just wanted to share my results and experience to show that people who don't have any relevant experience can still have hope! I had many quantitative courses and high grades in undergrad so that along with my SOP probably helped my application quite a bit, since other aspects of my application were weak compared to many others here. I was hoping just to get accepted into one school and wasn't expecting to get into my top choice (UCB) at all, so I am extremely grateful and excited for that. If you have any questions or want to talk/connect, feel free to DM. Good luck and congrats to all current and future applicants!!
