Virginia Tech is expecting to notify by the end of the month. I’ll update you on U Florida, U Maryland, U New Hampshire, and SJCNY when I hear back. I don’t think anyone besides me is applying to the last two though.

Had a nightmare that Cornell rejected me on Valentine’s Day just like they did last year. I didn’t apply to Cornell this year. Why are you the way that you are brain?

Update for all the Michener folks, the expected window of time for the Michener decisions from the committee around late February early March.

Guys, I made a friend at Barnes and Noble today. He’s an older poet and he’s so cool. I don’t meet many poets in person, especially these days, so it was refreshing to physically talk to someone who’s so knowledgeable.

The rejections typically come in one to two days after. I honestly burst out laughing when I didn’t see an acceptance or waitlist. I’m still chuckling.

Forgot to mention that getting into Maryland would be very poetic since one of my recommenders really liked it back in the day but she couldn’t get in.

I love Portland so much, it’s too bad Portland State’s funding isn’t livable. I really had liberal schools on my 26 finalists list this time, oops. I think Maryland has taken the number one spot away from Minnesota. Crossing my fingers.

Ooooof. Well, Missouri probably wouldn’t be a great place for me to start transitioning so I can’t say I’m too invested. I hope you get good news soon. Edit: I’ve leveled up and become a Macchiato. Despite most likely being rejected from WashU, I’ve achieved something today haha.

Hi! Age typically works in one’s favor because of writing experience, and also people from all backgrounds apply to MFA programs. Don’t worry about spending this or that amount of time, it’s over and all we can do is wait. I didn’t realize how hard it would be my first time either. Hopefully Syracuse treats you better than they did me last year (they didn’t even use my name in the rejection letter). What other schools did you apply to?

I really wish I had a mom like you. I can’t transition until I move out because my parents would rather me be homeless than trans. Michener and WashU are lagging behind the times. I understand WashU, but Michener is in Austin, the most liberal city in Texas. I’m just glad there are so many programs out there that have a gender and sex assigned at birth option instead of just sex assigned at birth.

Uh, so this is awkward. Remember when I got mad at M*rshall for calling me he? Welp, turns out I’m a trans guy. I’d feel weird if I didn’t come out after angrily insisting I have she/they pronouns. Sorry y’all.

Y’all have no idea how many times this happened to me last year. It’s a tradition at this point to receive spam from cities where you applied to school. Three of mine came from Syracuse and I short circuited every time.

When did you submit? I finished mine on 12/8. Maybe they’re doing it alphabetically? My status changed yesterday or Saturday, I think.

I’m not sure. They might not be reviewing yours quite yet. It might go in waves???
