I listed hospital experience and they were brought up at 2 independent interviews but everything about it was super positive.

Thank you so much for this! I assume it could be any Tuesday/Friday from now on. Hopefully it isn't extremely delayed due to COVID-19. Best of luck to everybody!!

As I went interviewing, I realized I actually am very interested in structural biology. However, I have no background; Has any of you rotated in a structural biology lab without prior exposure? how was your experience? thanks

Thanks for the info. At the time I posted this I hadn't received any acceptances, so I was just being super nervous as usual. Thankfully, I did end up receiving acceptances. I think the advice on asking for an enhancement is smart. I won't worry about that until I get it though lol

Just got MIT Rejection

In case it helps anybody: From the Harvard MCO associate director regarding interview invites: "Thanks for contacting us. We do both online and on-campus interviews. As such, our review process is ongoing. If you are invited to interview, you will be notified. All applicants will be notified of our decisions by mid-february."
-
Interesting. I assumed they had finished already since I saw a bunch of interview invites last week. It hurts as my first choice but I think I will be just assuming that I was left out. Will update if anything and please do if you get anything as well.

Biomedical Science PhD Applicants (Fall 2020)

I second this.... please let me know of any updates you get. I emailed the associate director and I am still waiting for a response. I did only see 2 interview invites from international applicants posted; I am afraid they were probably already sent given that the interview date posted online is for Jan 30 which is only 2 weeks away. Edit: Important to note that I made the stupid mistake of listing faculty who are actually part of the BBS cohort, so this may sentence me to a rejection... in any case, it would be annoying to have rejection held until march or feb.- 145 replies

Should we bring anything such as notebook or backpack?; i.e: Should we bring anything other than ourselves to the interview?

Safe to assume that MIT won't be sending any more invites..?

Has anybody heard about schools accepting previously rejected applicants after the release of the list of NSF awardees? I am really trying to find reasons to keep the hopes up for my top choices if anything happens.... (if I even get it anyway)...

Any updates on Harvard MCO?
-
As interview dates approach, I begin to wonder about all possible scenarios and how to deal with them; One scenario which leaves me puzzled is the instance in which a potential PI may not really be interested in you and starts asking difficult questions to throw you off/discourage you/signal his/her lack of interest. Has this previously happened to any of those who have gone through the process? - How have you dealt with the situation?
-
Applied to MCO here too. I saw some posts from last year indicating that MCO was still sending interview invites in January for interview February, so you may want to consider that.
-
Will schools send you rejections immediately if they do not intent to accept you or do they hold rejections until later in the cycle?

Just received an interview for Cornell BCMB in January. Has anybody heard from Harvard MCO? Given the mistake I made in the application, I would not be surprised at all if I am automatically rejected.
-
I don't know if they are finished, I was invited for one date in early January which means they may potentially have more coming up. I received a phone call on the 18th. I believe for international students the game is different so I would be patient and I wish you best of luck.

I have received interviews from UPenn CAMB, Duke CMB, Northwestern DGP and Princeton Molecular Biology I applied to MIT Biology, but I am aware that they do not send interviews until January so for now I am patient. Still waiting for Cornell BCMB I applied for Harvard MCO but made the regrettable mistake of selecting faculty from BBS (i.e, I should have applied for BBS). This was something I could have avoided by actually reading instructions well, and I will not be surprised if I am outright rejected. Best of luck to everyone...
