I would hope so, too, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I feel like this is a really common predicament for mid-career professionals returning to school, yet I don't see much guidance out there about it. I assume if I reach out to financial aid here or any other school they'd be able to answer it quickly and definitively.  The reason I raised it in this context is that the scholarship I received from the UMSSW was partially need-based in addition to academic performance... hence, if my need were seen as higher, maybe that scholarship could also increase. Does that make sense?

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I received the same offer straight out of undergrad. I'm hoping this was just an automatically generated offer based on residence and the rest will come later, but we'll see! I hope we both hear back!

Congrats!!! Did you apply for the Dec deadline?

Yes, well actually I'm not sure because I originally applied for their Social Sector Leadership program and then on December 18th I had a phone call with admissions to switch concentrations to the traditional program. I had to rewrite my essay and get an additional letter of recommendation, and they said I would still be considered a priority applicant, but I definitely heard later than everyone else.

Congrats!!! That is awesome news. Are you waiting to hear back from other schools or do you think you'll be accepting?

I am waiting to hear from Michigan about aid and for an admissions/aid decision from Minnesota. I'm excited to have the option! Have you made any decisions yet?

Hi all, I received a call from UofM regarding my acceptance on the 14th, and they had mentioned about me receiving an email or something through the mail (not sure which one) to confirm my admission decision. I still haven't received anything and the portal still doesn't display the admission decision either. Is anyone else in the same boat? Should I call just to see where they're at with sending things out?

I am in the same boat! Heard back on the 12th. I emailed and they said within the next 2 weeks. I think we just have to hang tight! :/

  5. I also haven’t received any follow up from UMich, but I did get a phone call! I would just make sure you’re familiar with the Ann Arbor area code (734). My phone said someone from Ann Arbor was calling me, and I feel like I blacked out because all I remember is that someone on the other end said congratulations lol. I agree tho- it will definitely take a while to process that many applications and phone calls! Fingers crossed for everyone in this thread!!

    Hi y'all!

So I decided to email CU admissions and they got back to me pretty quickly. Here's what they said:

"Thank you for reaching out and please don't freak out. It's not you!
We've had some staffing changes in our Admissions Office... With these missing staffers, our timing for processing applications and getting them out for reviews has been delayed. Please know that we're working diligently to ensure that applications are given a thorough review in a timely fashion, and greatly appreciate our applicants' patience.
I wish I could give you a better answer, but the March timeline is probably most realistic."

    CU admissions?

  7. Hi, friends! I also applied to UMich and U Chicago the week of Thanksgiving, and I finished applying to the University of Minnesota last night. Anxiously waiting to hear back! Is the consensus that applying the week of Thanksgiving means we might hear back in mid-late January? Also I am very glad that there is a forum of other students to stress out with!
