  1. Now that things are winding down...or turning up (!!) should we start a new thread for the decision process?
  2. Yeah, they told me quite specifically at the end that they'd send out letters on Friday. I am curious to hear which aspects of NYU and which POIs appealed to you all, just in case our interests overlap?
  3. Confirming that we would hear back from NYU on Friday...Bonne chance à tous ?
  4. NYU has sent out a first round of interviews for Ph.D. in French Lit -- why do I get the impression that they are moving so much more slowly than the others...
  5. @MonsieurHonoré That's very helpful -- thank you!! I'd also refer people to this comp lit thread. Page 26 has some particularly helpful tips:
  6. congrats on all the good news!! Yale is interviewing this week on Tuesday and Thursday. Not sure if there will be multiple rounds... Now that we're in the final stretch, it would be really helpful if people could share interview questions that they found particularly challenging or unexpected, and how much of the interview was in French ??!!
  7. Same -- has anyone heard anything about what Columbia's interviews are like? Mine says 15 minutes Skype with a sub-committee in both French & English.
  8. hey all!! anyone has experience interviewing with columbia?
  9. oh was there an interview process @mllesaid?
  10. congratulations on everyone who received offers today from UMich and UCLA!! neither is a fit for my interests, but are both absolutely wonderful departments ❤️ has anyone heard from Berkeley?
  11. I interviewed with Duke Lit earlier today and was absolutely crushed...Theory has never been a priority in my research/curricula, so I understand that Duke might not be a good fit for me, but still genuinely upset by my performance. Best wishes to everyone else though!!
  12. I understood it as they were entering for two people, so adding up to five
  13. there have been a number of false alarms on the result page...which I totally get!! but never fails to give me split seconds of heart attack ?
  14. thanks a lot for the advice @frenchphd ended up emailing the DGS and expressing my desire to attend, providing that I secure a visa. would really appreciate it if anyone has experience interviewing with Princeton!! If not, any school in person
  15. reviving this thread to ask if anyone here has experience with Princeton: I'm an international student based in Southeast Asia so will likely not be able to fly out for the mandatory campus visit. 1. Would it be appropriate for me to reply as such, explaining the circumstances with last-minute visa and plane tickets, and ask if I could schedule Skype interviews with key faculty members (should I suggest any or wait for the DGS to reply with specific names?) as well as the graduate studies committee? 2. What questions did you ask, or now think that you should have asked in your interviews? any help would be greatly appreciated!!
