  1. I just found out that I got the NSERC CGS-D!!! SF 196 (Psychology). I also initially had issues loading the extranet site. I received the email from NSERC about 40 mins ago. Congrats to all those who got an award and wishing luck to all those applying for another round next year. I wish I could share feedback or rankings to give an idea about how competitive it was, but sadly I received no such details in my letter. Finally can stop anxiously awaiting the results and get back to working on my thesis . . . . . . . . . .
  2. Hi there, good question! I think an ineligible status at this point means either that you turned town an admission offer from that school or that you were not offered admission to that school. This is just because admission at the school is a requirement to hold an award there, and some schools seem to update that before the official results from CGS-M come out! I saw the same ineligible status with McMaster after I turned down an offer. Hope this helps!
  3. Edit: This ended up being an acceptance to the experimental program. I got an OGS so they still wanted to admit me even though there were no more spots in the clinical program. Glad I have an offer from a clinical program where I live, but I was extremely disappointed and heartbroken to find this out. For anyone still waiting to hear from McMaster, unfortunately I can confirm that all the spots in the clinical program have been offered and accepted.
  4. Just got accepted into McMaster's RCT program! VERY SHOCKED! (Didn't even get an interview). If there is anyone else you got in and wants to chat, please message me!
  5. Has anyone heard anything from McMaster RCT regarding acceptances/rejections/waitlist??? I did not interview there so I am assuming rejection, but really want a definitive decision before I decide on other schools! I emailed the graduate coordinator from the program, and I got an automatic reply basically saying they are not answering any questions related to application status. If anyone has any insight regarding where they are in the admissions process, that would be very much appreciated - feel free to message me! TIA ?
  6. School: University of Regina Type: Clinical Psychology MA Acceptance/Waitlist/Rejection: Acceptance Type of Notification: Unofficial email from supervisor Date Notified: 2/17/21
  7. To the person who posted about a UBC acceptance, would you be willing to share your supervisor initials with me if you are comfortable? Congrats on your acceptance!!!!! Glad to hear some are getting good news during this tough cycle
  8. Does anyone know when applicants are notified about interviews and/or offers at UBC-Van and McMaster's?
  9. I think so! Mine says pending as well! I assume it says that until it is updated with the results. Regarding the 'Required' status, if I click on view requirements it says my reference assessments are complete but statement of interest and official transcript (which I believe they do not need until you get an offer - an unofficial transcript is fine) are labeled 'required'. I also think this is fine because the status legend mentions that these statuses remain this way until they are manually updated by the graduate program.
  10. Hi everyone! Hope everything is going well as deadlines loom closer. I was wondering if it is common to include references (as footnotes) in statements of interest? I have not because I have referred to potential supervisors' research more generally, but wondering if I should add some in. Thanks!
  11. I will probably end up attaching my CV as well. Good luck!
  12. I feel this so much haha. I had the same question and emailed the grad coordinator a while ago asking if it would be okay to also attach a CV, and the only reply I got was "A CV is not required." This definitely did not answer my question so still unsure if I will attach my CV. I am also finding it difficult to include everything in the one page statement of interest, so I would really like to submit my CV as long as I am not in some way penalized for doing this. Also curious, are you submitting 2 references or 3? It doesn't specify on the RCT program page so I am assuming only 2 are needed?
  13. Can anyone who is applying to Mac confirm this? As I understand it, the RCT application deadline is Dec 1st, but since the reference forms are not emailed out until you submit the app, you should be submitting well before the deadline to ensure references respond in time? Or is there a later reference due date that I have not noticed? Thanks!
  14. For anyone keeping track of schools changing GRE requirements . . . I now have email confirmation that the University or Regina is also no longer requiring the GRE for this admissions cycle.
  15. Little update - I believe Western is waiving the GRE as well! https://psychology.uwo.ca/graduate/future_students/application_process.html#application
  16. Great to see more people on this thread! I took a break over the last month from worrying about applications, but I am starting to get into the thick of things again . . . I have seen a lot about people wondering whether they should still do the general GRE with it being waived at most schools. Personally, I already wrote it last summer and was prepared to rewrite to boost my quant score. This is still my plan (hoping to write by September), but if I am not happy with my score, I will not include it (which is def nice to have as an option). I was hoping a strong GRE score could still boost my competitive edge since it is still preferred/encouraged at a lot of schools, but if your CV and GPA are great, I think you could certainly apply without the GRE and save yourself the energy and $. That being said, I am for sure NOT wasting my time with the subject-psyc GRE. As many of you, I am also torn on when to start contacting profs. I do not have a definitive list of supervisors yet, but that is my goal for the next 2 weeks. I am leaning toward starting to email supervisors the first week of August. How many schools are most of you applying to? I saw someone say 10-12 which seems high to me so I was wondering. My plan was to apply to 5-6 schools, but maybe this is not enough considering the competitiveness of these programs? Hope all of you are well and giving yourself time to relax!
  17. Lol I feel that - love those schools but my French is abysmal. Re contacting supervisors . . . I also am tempted to jump the gun and email them, but I think I will wait until August for my few top ones and then September for any others (depending on the responses from my first batch of emails)!
  18. I may have to write the psych GRE as well, but I am waiting to come up with my final list of schools before I start worrying about that. Most of the programs I am looking into do not require it. Do you know if the psych one is also being offered online?
  19. Agreed! Was kinda hoping schools would be letting prospective students apply without GRE scores with everything that is going on . . . but of course ETS is going online and sustaining the massive profit they make every year lol
  20. Those are definitely great schools :). And thanks! I am just hoping to bump my quant score to at least a 50 lol. I am definitely very excited to apply -especially with not much to do right now with everything locked down. I just finished my BSc honours in psyc and this will be my first time applying . . . so I am also a little nervous. Hopefully there is some more activity on this thread in the coming months!
  21. So glad you started this up!! I am applying this fall to Clinical Psychology programs in Canada and already have my eye on a few laboratories with clinical supervisors at UBC and Western. How are people feeling about doing online versions of the GREs? I did mine last summer but then decided to take a gap year before applying. I am now thinking of rewriting because although I did well overall, my quant score leaves something to be desired (V=94%ile, Q=45%ile, A=92%ile). However, I am not sure how I feel about writing the GRE from home (thanks to covid). Excited to hear about everyone's application journeys this year!!
