  1. Thanks y'all. Seems like it varies, like other posters have said on the Results page. If anyone knows a Lakehead grad student who's willing to chat about the program, my DMs are open
  2. Does anyone know how Lakehead admission works? I heard they just offer acceptance/rejection without an interview.
  3. Heard there were some trolls posing about US results. Have you encountered any Canadian trolls lmao
  4. A question: what does everyone think will happen to the GRE requirement for 'F22 admission?
  5. For anyone applying to McMaster, PNB department was recently investigated in response to several sexual assault charges against a few faculty and grad students. A law firm independently reviewed the department culture. Interesting read and the dept is defs taking steps to address their issues. https://www.thespec.com/news/hamilton-region/2020/12/03/review-uncovered-systemic-and-cultural-issues-at-mcmasters-psychology-department.html
  6. Congrats!! Is this a department-level interview or an interview with mainly your POI?
  7. Seems like that PI has got your back. Sounds like precursor to a supportive supervisor-supervisee relationship if you get accepted!!
  8. For anyone who applied to Lakehead: Did you need to wait 24 h to start the 2nd part of the application/actually upload documents? And can you submit unofficial transcripts or electronic official transcripts? They want official transcripts but also said unofficial is fine in the interim...
  9. I can't seem to find info on Lakehead's guaranteed funding for psych, but I'll take your word on this. You both provided very logical advice. Thanks so much!
  10. I have 2 questions: 1) There was no grading scheme included with my unofficial transcripts. Is this ok lol 2) Just found out I might want to work with a prof at Lakehead. Might have decent research fit but kinda iffy on fit at this point (haven't had chance to meet and discuss). I could apply now, but I've already missed the OGS deadline. I didn't apply for CGS-M with Lakehead either. Is it still worth it to apply?
  11. Y'all got emails about this? I haven't gotten any updates from schools, just the email that my CGS-M app was completed.
  12. On paper you sound pretty qualified. You meet and exceed minimum requirements for GPA, GRE, possibly research but I don't know what kinds of research experiences you have. Even if your prof is new, I think what matters more is the quality of the actual LoR -- does he know how you are as a researcher, student, your interpersonal/clinical skills? Do you think he's written favourably regarding these areas? Lots of people end up doing grad research in areas where their previous experiences didn't 100% match. Depends on how you tailor your previous experiences in your SoP, interviews, etc. Lots of profs also don't reply because they're busy/swamped with emails. I don't know why that prof prefers applicants with pubs, seems like a pretty stringent requirement imo Lack of presentations/pubs might be a detriment but it seems like you're catching up. If this app cycle isn't successful, you can apply next cycle with more pubs/presentations/etc. potentially!
  13. Have you emailed the CGS-M peeps to ask ? They're super helpful and respond quickly.
  14. If your research doesn't fit with the funding agency you applied to, I think the agency transfers it over to the applicable agency. It's my first time applying so anyone correct me if I'm wrong
  15. I didn't write anything for that, because it wants you to include services contributed in taking part in an event. I would only include times where I volunteered at a conference or something
  16. Are we supposed to apply to internal scholarship at each institution? Or are we automatically considered for those
  17. You need to make a Funding CCV, not generic. I think the Funding CCV gets populated with what you wrote in the Generic, so you probably don't need to re-enter too much info. Do you know how to access the Funding CCV?
  18. Unofficial transcripts are fine for McGill counselling app, not sure for clinical. I would contact the grad coordinator as I know lots of programs are more lenient about official transcripts this year due to covid and mail delays, as you said. I didn't apply to York but I would just say not complete if I were you. Lots of people apply to grad school while in the last year of their undergrad, schools know this and just want to see that you'll graduate in time (they can see on the transcript)
  19. For the thesis I put that in the Thesis/Dissertation section. Paid research experience or supported by undergrad research funding --> Academic work experience. Unpaid research experiences (e.g., volunteer RA) -> Volunteer experiences?
  20. Question for y'all: how did you list conference poster presentations on the CGS-M CCV? In the 'Presentations' section or in the 'Conference Publications' section? Poster presentations as in you submitted an abstract/title/etc. to the conference and they reviewed it and accepted it to be presented.
  21. For anyone who's applying to CGS-M, how did you upload your transcript? Do you scan and upload a PDF of your official transcript? When I scan my official transcript it shows the transcript as void. My school isn't sending electronic official transcripts to students. This transcript dealio got me confused
