I was listening to Harvard EdCast last night and they were discussing undergrad admissions being up at prestigious universities (mostly due to them getting rid of standardized testing requirements). I can only imagine it's the same for grad schools especially at a time when it's more difficult to enter the job market.

It's usually after 4:00 PM...this summer it was around 4:45 if I remember correctly.
-
I hope you're right about this! The Associate Dean of Admissions at my top program reached out to me for my community college transcript to verify some credits...hoping that's a sign that I at least made it through the first review. Fingers crossed!
-
Nooooooo Thank you for sharing the info...I won't be expecting to hear back this Friday now.
-
I don't know if you have already tried, but I would check to see if they might give you an extension? I was really stressed about that too and was able to get an extension until the end of March.

Try this: https://apply.gse.harvard.edu/account/login?r=https%3a%2f%2fapply.gse.harvard.edu%2fapply%2fstatus

I can access the portal. They send you a new link to login and check your admissions decision (I know from applying in the summer), so as long as you know your login information you should be fine!

Everyone on the thread seems very competitive...hopefully we can all meet in person this Fall
-
Did anyone on the thread apply for part-time? I know they only accept a small percentage of part-time applicants, so not sure if many people even consider this option.
-
Thank you! I applied to the specialized studies program when they opened admissions in the summer, but I think ELOE is actually a better fit (fingers crossed). What program did you end up applying to?
-
I applied to ELOE with a concentration in global, international, and comparative education. Undergrad school: high ranking public Undergrad GPA: 3.6 Undergrad activities: student government president, Honors college, original research LORs: University president, nonprofit CEO, current boss
-
That’s true! They have a February regular decision deadline and rolling admissions after as space permits

I hope you’re right! I definitely agree when it comes to the doctoral program. The waiving of the GRE requirement certainly encouraged me to apply since my scores weren’t outstanding... I’m sure there are others in that category. The program I applied to at Penn shared that they have seen a record breaking number of applicants so far and still counting... hoping that’s just a coincidence and not a trend of more people applying because of the recession.

I know from reading past threads that they typically advertise sending notifications by the end of March, but then it ends up being early March. With that said, it might take longer this year since they have brand new programs with different review parameters.
-
Good luck! Fingers crossed for the both of us!

ELOE with a concentration in global, international, and comparative education!

Anxiously waiting over here...accepted to UPenn last week, but the program is about $20,000 more than HGSE.
-
Accepted - M.S.Ed Education Entrepreneurship
-
Thanks so much! Penn did not open up applications as far as I know.
-
I signed up to take it on the 31st before HGSE announced that they were opening admissions for online/part-time. I was planning on applying to HGSE and Penn this fall! Like you, I applied to the SSP. Fingers crossed for both of us!

So very painful! I was really hoping to know before taking the GRE tomorrow ?
