  1. School: SUNY Albany Type: Clinical PhD Acceptance/Waitlist/Rejection: Accepted Type of Notification: Phone call from PI Date Notified: 04/05/2021 DM for POI: Yes I accepted this offer and released an offer at GWU!
  2. i've been thinking about this too! the thought is so distressing to me lol. i assume if it does happen, people eventually just give up on the schools where they were waitlisted. i don't see how else it could end ?
  3. I'm in almost the exact same situation. 6 interviews, 2 waitlists, and I don't feel confident about getting into any of them. I'm feeling really sad about this cycle and my abilities rn. This process sucks I hope things start looking up for us all soon
  4. I have pretty bad anxiety so I feel like I come off as very unconfident and reserved in interviews. Hopefully, the rest of my application can make up for that but I'm definitely prepared to apply again if this cycle doesn't work out
  5. I've been worried about the exact same thing. I'm awful at interviews and terrified of getting rejected from everywhere I interviewed at. I wish I had some actual advice for you but just know you're not alone! Even people who are great at interviews get rejected all the time, which just goes to show that a lot of these decisions are completely out of our control and have nothing to with our intelligence and worth
  6. the post I was referring to specifically mentioned the adult track. it's still kinda weird that no one would post about interviews, but i've seen that happen for other schools too. we're basically just guessing at this point so i hope you get some actual clarification soon! I still haven't heard back from the dev. psych clinical track and the wait is excruciating ?
  7. Someone on the results page said all offers had gone out but i have no idea whether or not that's actually true. I don't think there's any harm in reaching out to admissions and asking about a timeline/updates.
  8. I just got this response from ASU Clinical: "Thank you for your email. I am sorry that the admissions committee did not select you for an interview. With nearly 400 applicants and 25-30 interview slots, we are unable to interview many very qualified applicants. Critical in our decision-making process are students' research experiences, research productivity, and match with both our program and specific mentors. The most competitive applicants have more than a year of research experience, have presented at national conferences and/or worked on a manuscript for publication, and have research experience that is highly relevant to one or more potential mentors. I hope this information is helpful in providing some understanding of our process. We wish you the best of luck with your remaining applications."
  9. Did you check on the MyASU site? i'm asking bc I didn't even know it existed until yesterday ?
  10. I'm planning on emailing them tomorrow! will let you know if they respond
  11. https://youcangradschool.netlify.app/rworkshop/ I think this workshop has already started, but it could still be helpful. And they might do another series. If you want more of the conceptual background, I second coursera or local classes!
  12. Those were the only Black PIs I interviewed with tho, so I think your experience is probably the norm. I attend a PWI so it was actually a pleasant surprise for me lol
  13. In some of the places I've interviewed, all of the other applicants to the PI's lab were Black, so I think it partially depends on the PI and whether they prioritize URM inclusion. These were also programs with a pretty diverse faculty and student body, so that probably played a role as well
  14. Where did you see the post saying all invites were sent in December? I haven't seen anything for clinical on the results page yet
  15. Here's the link! It's a great group, and I've found it very useful and supportive. https://join.slack.com/t/psychinout/shared_invite/zt-kmiz8qlh-XLNYySgujTzZcMIzKBJhpg
  16. Yes me too, hope is the only thing we have in this soul-sucking process! I have a feeling we'll know by Friday ?. Fingers crossed for us both!
  17. It's under the general psychology doctoral admissions FAQ page!
  18. According to the website, applicants will be contacted for an interview by the end of January, and interviews are February-March. I can't find anything more specific than that!
  19. I attended the one on the 14th and 15th and that was their official interview event, but I don't think it would hurt to reach out and ask to clarify.
