  1. I've gotten one on a Saturday night and I've heard similar things from other people so it is possible! I'm trying not to check on the weekends though just to give myself a break
  2. School: SUNY Albany Type: Clinical Psychology PhD Date of invite: 1/15 Type of invite: Email from POI Interview date(s): 2/26-2/27 DM for POI: Yes! Super excited!!
  3. I'm pretty sure DJ has sent out all official interviews. I had a prelim with them earlier but did not get an official invite
  4. I saw that too but most programs have had their timelines pushed back this cycle and their website says they will notify by the end of January. Also haven't seen any invitations for clinical specifically. I wouldn't assume it's over! Fingers crossed you get an invite
  5. Okay then I would probably contact the 2nd one and ask them to reschedule since that one was scheduled last. Also, congrats on the interviews!
  6. Have you confirmed/accepted either of them? If not, I would ask the #2 program if they could reschedule
  7. I think mid-January is just a vague time frame. If they had a specific date in mind they'd probably just say it. But that's just what I would think!
  8. I think that's just for all prospective applicants not part of the interview
  9. I know some PIs at UNC Chapel Hill have sent out official invites, not sure if all have. Same for Texas A&M, and their interviews are on the 14th and 15th. I think the timeline is up to the individual PI for both
  10. No, the portals only reflect acceptances or rejections
  11. The ST1 means Status, so American, international, etc.
  12. I think mine was set up a bit differently than others. The POI sent a list of abstracts and told us to pick one to discuss, so we mostly talked about the study I chose and how it fit into my interests/experiences. I am the worst at interviews, but it honestly wasn't too bad! She told me that it was supposed to be pretty informal/conversational so hopefully yours is similar. Good luck!
  13. I just had a preliminary interview today, so I don't think all official invites have been sent out yet
  14. Yeah, I wouldn't worry until the end of January, especially if the program's interviews aren't until February. There's still time left! If you're on break rn, don't let this process steal your time for peace and relaxation!
  15. School: Penn State Type: PhD Date of Invite: 12/19/20 Type of Invite: email from POI for official interview Interview Date(s): 1/29 or 1/30 DM for POI: yes
  16. School: University of Notre Dame Type: PhD Date of invite: 12/17 Type of invite: email from POI Interview date: 12/21 DM for POI: Yes
  17. I'm sure nepotism will play a role in admissions this year, but I've also seen a lot of PIs, especially those interested in diversity/equity, talk about giving chances to people who may not have had the typical or expected research experiences. A lot of them acknowledge that access to research experience is influenced by privilege and are trying to look at other factors (e.g. work experience, goals and interests, intellectual curiosity) that might be applicable to graduate success. This probably isn't true across the board, and it might just be lip service, but I'm hopeful that faculty are going to use a more holistic and socially informed approach this year!
  18. I think he knew, he just took forever to respond. He's basically just not taking students anymore. And I'm hoping the funding situation will rebound a bit by next fall so hopefully you'll have a ton of people to apply to!
  19. one of the POIs I contacted literally emailed me back 3 months later and 2 days after the deadline to tell me he's retiring so things are already off to a great start lol
  20. I would say not until January, especially with the huge increase in apps this year.
  21. I have so many projects and papers I put off to work on applications and now I'm dreading picking them back up lol
  22. I think it's a combo of GRE requirements being waived, other job opportunities/funding situations being cancelled due to COVID, and the awful job market. I'm sure not everyone in the new wave of applicants is super competitive, but I still think there will be more competitive candidates in general this year, which worries me.
