  1. That is very interesting indeed! Thanks for the link!
  2. Actually, I think you are right. That is what I found: "Informal A few; several: a couple of days."
  3. I am not a native speaker so I can be mistaken here but I believe that "a couple" means one or two, may be three, but I would not say a couple about three or more of something. But may be it's just me
  4. It seems so strange! What ploys??? I mean, If I paid money for a ticket, I can do whatever I want with it - use or not use - it's not their business what I choose!
  5. Going home to see your family is immature? That is strange... So what scholarship is that?
  6. That is awesome! Congrats! And why will it be only for two years? It is a doctoral program, right? They are usually longer, I thought. Or when you said "a couple" you actually meant four?
  7. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's so cool!!! I am so glad for you!!!!! Congratulations!!!!
  9. As I will be moving to the US from another country, I will have a loooooooot of things to do this summer. Making visa, choosing things to take with me, trying to cram this things in my new suitcase And many many more...
  10. As for free time I think it depends on a program and on a professor you will be RAing for. You should ask current students. On websites af some (all?) universities you can find an academic year calander which says when, for example, winter recess starts and ends, etc.
  11. Well, it obviously depends on how big one's stipend is Transatlantic trips are not very cheap...
  12. And what if you keep doing it??
  13. Please don't worry about that! We are all here to support each other, so please share your worries with us, we want to help!
  14. That is so unfair So you can't just call them and ask? It is against some Fulbright rules?? Grrr
  15. A lot of people on this forum do not know what it is, but only a few dare to ask It means "person of interest". And yes, we certainly need a glossary There are still some less important acronyms on this forum whose meaning I still do not know...
  16. I am so glad for you!
  17. Critical language? What do you mean? I wonder what are other languages considered critical by the federal government...
  18. Nice story. I was told that though sometime luggage gets lot it is very seldom lost forever. I hope it is true
  19. Cool site, thanks!
  20. Ok, I will!
  21. I was wondering how I can find some good realtor to search for an apartment? If, say, I don't want to use Craigslist but a real estate agency. Are there some agencies that work all over the US or I need to look for an agency in a specific area where I will be moving? How will I know that a real estate agency is reliable?
  22. Ha, I was sure that I would not be on the list
  23. Thanks a lot!!!!!! That is very helpful!!!
  24. And how can I label my luggege before? I thought that on a label there will be some special number (the same as on the sticker in my boarding pass) and I won't get this special number till I check it.... And what other kinds of identifying marks can there be? Ok, I am confused. What is the difference between those labels and the baggage claim? On the claim there must be this special number given me by an airplane company but what about labels? Shall I write on them whatever I want, like my name and email??
