  1. Congratulations!! That’s great news. I’ve applied to the international health, health systems track. It’s my top choice and I’m so anxious right now.
  2. Got my rejection from Stanford today. I didn't have an interview with them so was expecting this.
  3. I was told we'll hear sometime last week or this week. I'm dying of anxiety here.
  4. Just received a rejection notice from Harvard PHS. I knew it was coming but it still stings.
  5. Just checked my Columbia application portal again. Looks like they corrected the glitch because my application is back to being under review.
  6. Health services research and policy
  7. No idea! I emailed them asking for clarification. Haven’t yet heard back from them. This is not helping with my anxiety lol
  8. Joining the rejected-by-JHU HPM-track and received-the-Columbia "welcome to Columbia Public Health" message-on-my-application-portal gangs nice to have solidarity through this misery.
  9. To anyone else who’s applied to Harvard PHS Global health program, here’s what I heard from a faculty member I had been in touch with while applying: “I believe that they do interview everyone on the shortlist, but as I am not on the committee I am not certain about that. I also do not know much about the timing but my suspicion is that final decisions are either being made now or have been made. If you have not had an interview then I would guess—and it is a guess—that things may not work out.” Since there’s so much ambiguity about their interview process, I thought I’d share what I heard.
  10. Oh ok thanks for sharing! I haven’t heard back from either place but hoping that no news is still good news ?
  11. Health systems! Wbu?
  12. Thanks for sharing. Did you get a sense of whether they interview all candidates or any information about the process?
  13. Hey guys! Thanks for sharing all your updates. I interviewed with Johns Hopkins IH folks last week and received an interview request from Dartmouth today. No updates from Harvard PHS (Global health), UNC, Stanford, Columbia and Berkeley. I emailed Harvard admissions as well as the global health dept and they were vague in their responses - same as what someone posted earlier. They said that interviews are not necessary and only conducted if they need more information than what was in the application. Has anyone else applied to Harvard PHS - global health track and been invited to interview? Fingers crossed!
  14. Hey fellow grads/grad school aspirants, I have a question about how to bypass the TOEFL requirement if all your schooling was done with English as the medium of instruction. Most schools have a note that they will waive the TOEFL requirement for PhD programs if your language of instruction in Undergrad was English. Have any of you tried to do this? What did you have to submit to show them that your instruction was in English? Thanks in advance!
