  1. I think that you have a strong background for solid master's programs, maybe even some mid-range PhD programs depending on the rest of your application. I wouldn't worry about not having I/O relevant research experience, since most schools know that is difficult to come by. Your 2 co-authors more than makes up for that. I haven't heard from PSU yet, but I heard back from GMU a couple weeks ago. I was rejected to their PhD program, however I was offered a spot in their MA program with zero funding. I ultimately turned it down for a PhD program @ FIT.
  2. Whelp, it is what it is! I haven't officially received a rejection from BGSU, FIU, or PSU, however since I haven't heard anything at this point I am just assuming that they are rejections so that I can put more focus into my other options. Congrats to everyone that got in! I received offers to GMU's MA program and FIT's PhD. I will likely accept FIT's offer given that a PhD is my end goal.
  3. Yeah I just received an offer from GMU. Did your offer say anything about funding? I'm not sure if they fund their MA students, but if so then that is definitely a big deal for me since none of my offers have come with funding yet.
  4. The opportunities at GMU are phenomenal. I applied to PhD programs this cycle, however I was also considering accepting a master's position there. I understand that the PhD students & MS students take courses together, so the training is really good. Plus, you are near DC which is great for IO. Would you receive any funding at GMU? I think it depends where you want to work as well, but I would most likely take the GMU position since the program is widely recognized in the IO community and I don't really know much about UTA or some of the other California schools.
  5. Hey, so this is my first application cycle, but it's my understanding that April 15th is standard for most programs here in the US. I am not sure if that is correlated to April 15th also being "Tax day" in the US or not, but that seems to just be the norm here. I haven't heard of too many schools requesting a decision made after April 15th, but I hope that helps answer your question!
  6. I haven't heard from 8 programs yet, but I am pretty much expecting rejections from them. The exception being GMU, since I checked a box indicating that I wanted to be considered for the masters program there. I am just going to play it safe and assume the worst for those schools. Regardless, I won't be making any decisions until closer to the April 15th deadline.
  7. Congrats to those that got in to their respective programs! I have heard that decisions for NIU should be going out in a week or two for those that are waiting to hear back. This has been a stressful application season!!
  8. Nice! I applied to a number of those schools as well. I think that FIU already sent out interviews and offers based off of what people posted on the results section. I don't know if that information is very reliable, though. I also applied to GMU and UMN and haven't heard back anything either. I suspect that I will hear back from GMU later since I wanted to be considered for the master's program as well. I bet we will hear back soon!
  9. Just saw this. I have just been accepted to their PhD program, however I have not heard anything about funding just yet. I wish you the best! Did you apply to their MS or PhD program?
  10. I just received an interview invite to NIU from my prospective PI. I have also just received an offer from FIT. This is my first offer, so I am very excited!
  11. Congrats on the admits! If I don't get accepted this cycle I will consider Montclair since they have a unique data science focus. So far it looks like I am really banking on one school ?
  12. Oh wow, congrats! I am hoping to hear from them soon, but still no dice! I am getting a bit discouraged from not hearing back from anyone. So nervous!
  13. That's great, thank you! Good luck during recruitment weekend and congrats on your acceptances already!!
  14. Hey everyone, it looks like some people have just started receiving interview invites for Bowling Green. I didn't receive one, but I was wondering if anyone could confirm that? I've been eagerly waiting for BGSU.
  15. That's great that you have acceptances already!! I was fortunate to secure a waitlist slot at UNCC, but there is still so much uncertainty on whether I am going to grad school or not. So nervous!!
