Yeah... you're not wrong. I went to Sarah Lawrence for part of my undergrad. Actually, I was there from 2010-2012, so maybe we know each other @dooooodle ! I definitely agree with a lot of what you mentioned... the conferences were probably the moments where I learned the most when it came to my writing. 
Anyway, if you can handle the trust fund kiddos playing thrift store dress-up and condescending to you about the bourgeoisie (that they're soooo clearly not a part of), then maybe your experience will be different. I feel like those of us on significant scholarship and financial aid found each other pretty quickly. Most of us transferred or dropped out all together. 
That being said, the faculty and classes were amazing. I was never more depressed than when I had to leave, but it was probably one of the smartest decisions I ever made, financially speaking. I guess you could say it was a very rude awakening to the realities of the world. I think that now that I'm older, I probably would have had an easier time. But such is life!  If you can financially swing it, then I say go for it. 

I think what’s really killing me is the crumb of possibility that came with being waitlisted. Like OK, cool, somebody likes my work and that rules, but am I gonna get to move and do school stuff? I just wanna KNOW.

You make it sound really pleasant haha. For me, I feel like I’m Dr. Frankenstein, ripping limbs off of Barbie dolls and combining them to form a monstrosity that’s strangely beautiful.

U of Florida, Brooklyn College, Hunter College, Notre Dame, U of Maryland, Columbia, Emerson College, and Boston U. All for fiction. Looks like Florida sent out its acceptances and the two CUNY schools have their interviews going, so I'm not too confident about those.
On a more positive note, a lit magazine accepted one of my stories today.

Don’t give up hope just yet. I went to UW for my undergrad and they had a sliding acceptance, so there may still be a chance. If it doesn’t happen, you’ll be better prepared for next year, love.

I've lurked for a long time and had to finally say how much of a relief it's been to read everyone else's struggle going through the application process and now the decisions. It's so wonderful seeing how supportive everyone is of each other and their successes and even the mutual middle fingers when there are rejections. You're all delightful and I'm so glad to not feel completely alone in this hair pulling, nauseating thing we've all done. 
I have an acceptance from SLC with a small scholarship, but am still waiting on Brown, Iowa, Columbia and NYU. I ate an entire large bag of candy today as my lunch with one shoe on because I'm definitely not stressing over the waiting whatsoever. nope, super chill over here. Probably not even gonna buy another bag of candy from the dollar store. Anyone know a good dentist?

I got an acceptance via email this afternoon! No further info about financial support or aid yet. I think they do a semi-rolling thing that staggers aid and places, but I'm not sure of the specifics.

Just got accepted (via email) at Georgia College & State with full funding and the Arts & Letters Journal Editing Fellowship! I truly thought this round was going to be a wash - I'm so emotional ?

Hey, sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it. I'm also really struggling with rejections this year (it's my second round applying). What comforts me the most is recalling people who've been rejected from five or seven programs only to be accepted at Iowa or Michener or Hellen Zell. Those stories serve as a great reminder not to measure yourself by rejections. And remember, if a program takes 4 writers and has a 5-person waitlist, you could be number 10 or number 1000 and you wouldn't know the difference from a form rejection. Try to have faith in your work, take comfort in group critiques and feedback from workshops, measure your work by peers and mentors you trust. I was waitlisted at three great programs last year and have received straight rejections this round even though I know my applications were stronger. Bottom line, applying to MFAs is a shit show. Take heart. Sally forth. Writing is one of the hardest things you can choose to do with your life because these are the kinds of odds you will always face. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, or that you aren't meant to write!❤️

Oh my, based on their profile, I think I like this person a lot! I don't get the shrimp thing either though. Crab is better.

Edit: says it's poetry, which is totally feasible considering poetry often gets done before fiction, but I'll believe it when I see it

The shrimp thing is great ? and the person seems very genuine - I believe they are just having their work noticed by great programs! I do not  think they are trolling.

I know not many people get the “Shrimp” thing, but I do get it and maybe they aren’t trolling.
I’m curious if y’all will ever figure out “shrimp”, I’ll tell you if you get it right.
