    Does anyone have any advice on preparing for an interview with a POI you are well-acquainted with? I’ve been part of my POI’s lab for a couple years now and don’t know how to prepare for the interview. We have already discussed a majority of the typical interview topics at length (research interests, career objectives, strengths, weaknesses, proposed thesis topics, etc.). Any advice or ideas on what interview questions to expect?

I don’t really know how to prepare because we have already discussed a majority of the typical interview topics at length (research interests, career objectives, strengths, weaknesses, proposed thesis topics, why this program...). Any advice or ideas on what interview questions to expect?

    I don’t know if anyone has attended an open house yet this year but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how the virtual aspect was? Maybe a bit on what to expect? From what I’ve heard most programs structure it (pre-pandemic) as follows: 1) a group meeting where research in several labs are presented 2) discussion and question period about the clinical program 3) lab tours - when you and your competition meet your POIs grad students and ask questions and when you are both interviewed by your POI. If this is the case, how will this look virtually? In general does anyone have advice on how to prepare for an open house and/or the interview with your competition present?

    Hi everyone! What are your thoughts on contacting POIs to see where things are at? As open houses are coming up and interview invites are being sent out, I have been tempted to email some of the POIs I applied to. I received very positive email responses from several POIs and two enthusiastic informal interviews prior to the application deadline. While I believe it is acceptable I don’t want to annoy my POIs or come off as desperate/anxious. What does everyone else think? Is it acceptable? If so, when would be the earliest you would send these emails out?
