The FAQs page says that interview is not a formal part of the process and the program page mentions that candidates might be contacted for an interview to acquire additional information. BUT, has anyone ever heard of someone being accepted at SGSE without an interview? With all this waiting time and my application status still incomplete, I am letting horses run wild in my head.
A friend told me that universities all over the world have received a record number of applications. Many of her friends are professors so they have been talking to her about the amount of work they need to put into this year’s review process.
A SHIP interviewee left a comforting message on the results page saying something similar. I will now go watch some Miyazaki to change my tempo.
I know what you mean because I am going through similar upheaval of emotions and self-efficacy. I have been telling myself to let go and prepare a backup. And this is why I won't give you words that I am not giving myself, but I will send my good wishes to you and hope that you get through.
Ha Ha! Sorry! I meant I am more of a glass-is-half-empty kind of person! They have mentioned that an interview is not a part of the normal admissions process and faculty takes that call. So, there is enough reason for you to not worry.
The way I think and the kind of person I am, if my status changes and I don’t get an interview invitation within a few days, I will begin my panic dance. So this incomplete status gives me hope and keeps me sane.
I think the post said that the interviews are being scheduled for some people but not all the applicants. FAQ mentions that an interview or the lack of it is not a sign of how our applications have been received.
I read a reply on the results page that too many applications have been received for the same position (under CTE) and that they are slowly checking those and scheduling interviews. Since I have also applied for CTE and have not even got my application status updated to complete, I am quaking in my boots!
Someone got a mail for an interview! It’s good to know that the application process is progressing for at least some people ?. I wish the interviewee luck.
I have to stop refreshing my inbox and applyweb pages. I only applied to three places thankfully so at least I know that I can only receive three rejections.
Hi! I had 2 interviews with UofRochester in the first week of January. I think they should reply by the end of the month or the first week of February! Wishing you luck!
My application status still indicates “submitted” and “incomplete”. The checklist says that the manual checking for PhD should have been done by Dec 17. Is anyone else facing the same issue? Should I write to the admissions team?
