I sent a request for aid as I was offered a fellowship for UC San Diego. Hopefully I get some kind of aid, as not being able to work while attending UCSD is not really an option for me. I will update when I get a response.

I received an offer with one year of tuition paid for from UCSD. “Congratulations once again on your admission to the School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS). The Admissions Committee has completed its evaluation of files for merit awards and, in recognition of your excellent credentials, wishes to offer you a fellowship to include: Full California Resident Tuition and Fees: Year 1 ($26,390) ”

How did you go about asking for increased funding? Thanks.

I also have been nominated for admission for the MPP program. I am staying conservative and waiting for the official response. I applied on January 14th. Anyone apply for UCLA?

Real world experience trumps “education.,”in most cases. Dedicate yourself to your craft at your new position, make a difference, and work hard. Graduate school will always be there; besides, real work tends to shift your point of view in priorities, including what you want to attain your masters in.

I am in the same boat as far as GPA’s are concerned (high CC gpa, 3.2 from UCLA). I’m sure they look at everything in a holistic sense. So if all you did during that time was go to school with some clubs here and there, you might be in trouble. In my case, I worked full time at an engineering firm as I am a non-traditional student and had to support myself.
