Hi, I don't have much experience and academic and I have no idea how this works. I got a couple of acceptances where the portal was updated but I did not receive an email from anyone. They also do not mention much about funding. They are generic acceptances from the broader department, and not even from sociology. What are the next steps? Do I reach out to the DGS? How do I inquire about funding? When do I have to make a decision by? Is this typical? Thanks!

Yeah, exactly! She also said they are still in the process of reviewing some applications so it's still really anyone's game. They seemed really open to questions so I think you could definitely email them for an update.

I was the one who posted today about a quasi-acceptance. I was actually hoping to see how many people received a similar email so that I know what my chances are. The email did definitely say no final decisions will be made until they know how many applicants they can admit- which will be late March/early April at the latest.

Has anyone heard anything about Emory?

For some reason I was hoping the competition would be less this year? While I know many schools have paused admitting people this year, I was hoping that because of the reduction in number of schools to apply to less people would apply. Does anyone have any insight on that? And it's not your fault no matter what! Sometimes it's just a matter of fit.

How are you all managing your anxiety over this? I feel like I'm constantly checking for updates. It seems that we can't base this year on previous years timelines and acceptances. No idea what I would do if I didn't get any acceptances.
