Received an acceptance from the writing department at SAIC. News on funding to come in the next few weeks. Anybody from the writing department receive any funding yet? Congrats to everyone who received an acceptance! This ish was stressful AF.

Supposedly, we are to hear back by March 1st. However, it looks like acceptances already started going out. Someone in the ceramics department received an acceptance.

I agree. Most of my interview was very conversational when they asked me about my work. It felt really empowering for my two interviewers to have resonated with the two short stories I submitted in my portfolio. One of the interviewers talked about how they could help build on one of my short stories to make it into a novel. I think the trick to the interview is really just being yourself and answering questions honestly. Even if I do not get into SAIC, the fact that the interviewers read and understood my work and its purpose validated me enough to know that this is what I am meant to do.

For everyone that has an interview today with SAIC, I am wishing you tremendous luck and blessings. We made it this far, let keep up the momentum. I hope to meet some of you tonight at the mixer at 5pm CST. Again, good luck, everyone. Just be yourself and I am sure it will work out for all of us.

I developed a few questions myself based on a google search. However, I can’t find anything directly correlated to SAIC’s interview. What time is your interview? Also, are you going to the luncheon thing at 12 on Saturday?

Oops. I didn’t know it was separated like that. I just typed in SAIC in the search bar. But while I have you here (lol). I have an interview with SAIC on Saturday and I’m not sure if I should wear a suit or something more casual. What do you guys think?

I did not receive an invite to a virtual hangout last Friday. I don’t think the writing department is having a separate gathering; the only one I know of is the graduate mixer that’s happening on Saturday at 5pm CST.

Creative writing.

I applied to Columbia college and SAIC for creative writing. Got an interview with SAIC and have been in regular contact with the admissions director at Columbia College. However, he did say that they start sending our interview request the last week of February; not sure if that applies to the photography program as well.

I am hoping for some direction as well. what program are you applying for?

I heard back from SAIC today around 3pm CST to interview; applied to the writing program! Good luck everyone!
