Thanks for the reply. I looked through some of the older years as well. It seemed last year they had quite a delay which most people attributed to COVID. Makes sense since no one really knew what things were going to look like a year ago when the shutdowns really took off. Even then it felt like they really pumped the decisions out by late March or April. I guess my only option is to move forward with a different school this week. Once I pay the deposit, get them whatever records they want, get student loans lined up, start looking for housing, start getting a field internship lined up, and whatever else I'll need to do in the coming weeks It will probably be impossible to change course and go with Columbia if they offer me admissions sometime in May. it wouldn't be so frustrating if they could've offered  better feedback when they will finish processing all the applications at least this late in the process.

I got accepted into Columbia on the 26th! I just checked my application status tonight because I wasn’t sent an email. Columbia was the only school I applied to

    Hi everyone,
I’ve been lurking this forum but just wanted to post that I received my acceptance to Columbia tonight! I applied on February 15. So excited but also nervous about paying for tuition. Columbia and USC were the only two programs I applied to. Has anyone else who accepted their Columbia decision applied to their online program? I live in NYC currently but am thinking of moving to LA. Congratulations to everyone!

Hey guys! Just wanted to share I was accepted to Columbia tonight! I applied on February 7th. I'm already close to comitting to UNC Chapel Hill which is tied with Columbia as the #3 best MSW program in the country. I am also from North Carolina so it would be WAY more affordable than Columbia. Unless they send me a great financial package, I'm going to decline their acceptance. Sucks I do not come from a rich family to afford the ivy lifestyle. Best of luck to everyone waiting to hear back!
Also, don't forget- everything happens for a reason, and trust within the process. success  is coming your way :)

For those of you who have been admitted to Columbia, did the acceptance letter name any scholarships/grants, or did that come later?

It's based on your FAFSA -- they will send you a follow up with scholarship info!

I didn't since this thread hasn't been about stats at all like in previous years. That was what someone else posted and I also agreed with him. I'm thinking that when all is said and done I'll probably have a final post with my stats, the programs I applied to and what I ultimately accepted. I think that my be more helpful if people sum up their experiences towards the end of the thread.
It seems like your a bit negative with most of your posts? Not trying to start a war, but what are you trying to say masters degrees are easy? So no one should get one? Most of us are trying to get the MSW programs in places the will provide us with desirable field placements and help us advance our careers. Some people might think its easy to get into masters programs that require you to complete a bachelors and maintain a 3.0 or 3.25 GPA. If its so easy how come such a small percentage of the population gets these degrees? Why are they required for clinical licensure? I think you might need to take a breath instead of comparing acceptance rates. No one else here is trying to compare the acceptance rates and put themselves above or below anyone else.
On a more productive note are you applying to any programs?

    Hi All!
I've been a long time lurker and thought I'd finally jump on these discussions! Just like a handful of others, I was waiting for my Columbia decision for what felt like the longest and finally received it on Monday April 19th, I applied Feb 1st. Also, I just received my financial aid package and wondering if anyone successfully appealed theirs? Would anyone mind sharing the link to the appeal form? I've seen a budget appeal form but not sure if this is it.
Thank you and best of luck to those waiting!

This is such a let down. I really thought that when they told me 2 weeks it would be 2 weeks... now I'm not so sure

I submitted my deposit to NYU as well! Either way, both great schools, but yeah, it would be nice to hear back soon and I wish we didn’t have to deposit before hearing back

Hey everyone! Has anyone paid their deposit and committed to a school and then changed their mind? How did you go about informing the other school that you're no longer attending?
