I saw some people got rejections from UW today. I got the “your application is still under review” a few weeks ago but haven’t heard back, reject or accept. Does anyone know what this might mean? I have other programs to commit to but UW is my first choice! Help!

Interested in Bayesian and ML especially with application to climate science with hopes of tenure tracking after PhD. Currently deciding between UCLA or Michigan and praying to the lord above to hear back from Washington. Advice? Perspectives? Reapply? Anything is welcome. Thank you!

As an aside on the cost of living, having lived in Cambridge for two years and now Bay Area for over 3 years, I would say Cambridge is a bit lower.

Why does UW send letters of “Still Under Consideration” to so many? From previous years data, looks like they just get rejected. 😔

Is this a reflection of the UCLA stats phd program? Anyone know their reputation? Esp with regards to academia futures for their grads.
