  1. Thanks :) I applied October 13th, though my references weren't all submitted until Dec 21.
  2. Chiming in to say that I was also accepted to UBCO Foundational - yesterday afternoon. I am a domestic student and will be very happily accepting! Best wishes to you all. ❤️ Hoping some of us will be classmates!!
  3. I haven't heard anything from SFU. I wonder if they have sent all their acceptances out? I kind of doubt they would spread out their acceptance letters over a number of days, being that they admit so few people. But I guess we'll see. Hopefully they get back to us soon, would be nice to know one way or the other.
  4. Hey, just saw this now. Did you have it yet? I had mine and it was kind of the typical questions, just in a group format with everyone taking turns responding. Extremely nerve-wracking nonetheless! I felt it went decently well but everyone else in my group was so incredible that I have no idea how they will narrow it down. And now we wait a month!
  5. Thanks for sharing this! I've heard this pretty often, that social work is just as good a route to doing this kind of work. I wonder if you (or anyone else) have any insight on the competitiveness of social work programs compared to counselling programs? Particularly for those of us who don't have an undergraduate degree in social work, as I know there are often different tracks for this.
  6. Hey - same here. I feel you, it sucks. I'm holding out a shred of hope for SFU, although the program is so incredibly competitive (aren't they all, I suppose). Apparently they had over 300 applicants this year, narrowed down to ~30 interviews, and then down to ~12 places. Crazy!
  7. Hi, so was I! Congratulations. I'm honestly not sure. They are saying it is an interview in groups of 3-4 applicants, which is kind of scary... I'm not sure what that will entail. I figure I will just do my best to prepare for typical interview questions, and be able to present something concise about my research topic.
  8. Thanks so much for this information. It is disheartening that there are so few spots available in counselling programs - not just at UBC, but at many/most of the major public universities in Canada. Particularly now, with the pandemic highlighting the need for mental health resources, you would think training professionals in this field would be a priority. Sigh.
  9. Congratulations @counspsycapp!! @Jumbo3I haven't heard from UBC yet, though I applied to the M.Ed program. Not sure how they roll out their decisions. Good luck to all!! What a crazy time this is.
  10. I feel you! I haven't heard anything back from either institution and I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. I suppose as you say, we may not hear anything until March. Fingers crossed!
