You can practice clinically with a masters in counseling, so what is it specifically that you hope to accomplish with the PsyD? Alternatively, why apply for a masters at all if your goal is the doctorate? A masters can be good if you have a lower undergrad GPA and want to show that you are capable of doing grad level work. Others, there isn’t a whole ton of utility for a masters first. 

Title says it all, all my materials have been received and now the waiting game begins!

Please  I'm an international student I will like to know any masters program with assistantship thanks

I did this in the past when I was first accepted to law school, and later when I was hired for clerkships. My thought is that if they know they have helped you and you are grateful, they'll likely stay on your side if you need recommendations for something else down the line. I kept it simple, even with the recommenders that I knew really, really well:

Prof. X,

I hope everything is going well. I just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to write a letter of recommendation for me last fall. You might be happy to know that, with your help, I was accepted to X, Y, and Z and I've decided to attend Z beginning this coming fall to study A. I owe you one! - Your former student.

I applied to Columbias Ph.D. program and got denied but they offered to put my application into the Master's of Arts in Psychology in Education pool - which I responded to do with a yes please. (Fordham did the same thing with me too but I just got rejected yesterday.) However, they said that this is a whole separate review process that will take 6-8 weeks !! Kind of frustrating but does anyone know anything about this? TC. Columbia is my top school and I'm kind of nervous to keep waiting for another 2 months only to be rejected (again) but I'm trying to have positive thoughts.

I've recently accepted my offer to Middle Tennessee State's Experimental Psychology program. I was offered a part-time teaching assistantship with the psychology department and a research assistantship with my advisor! I've released my offer from University of Texas - Dallas and will release my offer from University of Tennessee - Chattanooga tomorrow. Hopefully it'll help some people on the waitlist.

Hi everyone! I'm in need of a bit of advice here. I got accepted in Stony Brook's MA program which I am so excited about, however, I am currently waitlisted on a few PhD programs and waiting to hear back from a few other masters programs. Stony Brook needs a decision by next week. Is it in poor taste to accept their offer, even though I know I will have to decline if I get off the waitlist? I just don't want to pass up the opportunity in case I don't get into those programs. 
The differences in all the deadlines for masters vs. PhD programs is stressing me out lol. 

I emailed TC Columbia University about the timeline for decisions, they said that by the end of THIS WEEK (March 20), applicants will know if they were accepted or not. 

I was accepted to Teachers college yesterday- no interview but I am from CA.  Have not heard yet from NYU.

I’ve been popping in on this forum and the results page like everyday these past couple of months so I thought I’d make it official by creating an account lol.
Waitlisted at KU’s counseling psych PhD but received acceptances for the M.S. in Counseling at Oklahoma State University and the Clinical Psychology M.A. at Ball State University. My decision to attend either program is dependent on securing funding so I’m just in the process of figuring that out. Super grateful for my acceptances but it feels like I’m back at square one with the search for an assistantship.

I didn't have an interview, but I did submit my application before the priority deadline.

I was told they had 150 applicants and could only accept like 8 this year so don't get down! It was competitive and you never know what will happen.

I just checked my UT Dallas portal and saw I was accepted to the MS Psychology program!! If you've applied there, check your application status, it seems like they're rolling out decisions.

Ah we have very similar stats! I'm a current college senior (English/German/almost psych major with a 3.8 GPA; GRE was 165V 157Q 5W). Strong SOP and humanities research background but very limited psych research experience. Initials of targeted PI was CW but I also explained how I was interested in aspects of the work of like 4 other profs lol.
I'm the poster who got accepted to Wake Forest with partial funding on Wednesday; I got an informal email from the director of the program and the official acceptance letter was emailed to me a few hours later. 
I'm really not sure what I'm going to do at this point; Wake Forest is my top choice but the idea of taking out a bunch in loans just for a master's when I'm planning to spend at least the next 7 years in school is not ideal for me (I'm planning to do a PhD in clinical/counseling psych but I'm interested in research). I was rejected from W&M, waitlisted at Villanova, I interviewed at U Dayton (and I'm still waiting to hear back on a final decision), and I'm interviewing at UNCW this weekend. Still waiting to hear back from CU Colorado Springs (though that doesn't look promising) and Ball State Clinical Psych. Good luck to everyone!! The waiting is truly terrible lol. I hate not being able to plan for the very near future/think about the prospect of ultimately not being able to go to any of the programs I applied to. 

I submitted most of mine sometime around the end of last year (2020). A few that had due dates in February / March, I submitted in early January. 

ahh yeah, astute eye there. My thing is, I know that even checking these sites is a sadistic process, because in reality the only *good* news will come by direct contact from the program. But yes in a small way, it is a relief to somewhat manage expectations. I'm not pursuing clinical either, so I can't even begin to fathom the competition you're facing. I have this intimation too, that even when the validation does come (if ever), that somehow it'll fade quicker than expected, and if I haven't already undertaken some inner work to the depth of complete release from the outcome, that it still won't be "enough". 

They didn't say it was a "full" offer per se (full meaning full tuition plus stipend). I also thought, although unlikely, they could have also been the same person on the results. When you look at previous years for Wake Forest specifically, acceptances are way staggered from days apart, to a week apart, to even a month. Some had an email and phone call, others had only an email, and so on. It just seemed to really vary. So maybe after another week or so it'll be more clear. But most of my programs did not send them out all in one day. I'll be doubtful after another week or so! For now I am just going to wait and see.

But I mean don't get me wrong I am indeed a masochist too.

yeah, what was posted in "results" said they found out today (with partial tuition remission), and then "ballpointpen" said they got their full offer yesterday. Seems doubtful from here on out, unless some unexpected movement happens around April 15th. That's a brutal 6 weeks to hold onto a sliver of hope. We're masochists I tell you.

Invites for many schools do not necessarily go out all at once on the same day, especially per PI. I'm not sure if this helps. ? It would also be great if we could know whether or not it appeared as a mass email?

Hello! I am applying to Clinical Psych and Counseling Psychology Masters programs across the North East. I've been accepted to Immaculata Uni (PA), but been rejected from Towson (MD) and Frostburg (MD). I'm waiting on Bridgewater (MA), UC Colorado Springs (CO) and Montclaire (NJ). My dream school is Montclaire. I applied for everything in early January and summited all materials late January. I just emailed Colorado Springs today about their decision as I've seen most people on here have heard back and one girl said she had to email to find out she was rejected. 

I was accepted and offered funding to Wake Forest yesterday.
For the user who requested it:
GPA: 3.922 (English and Philosophy) GRE: 165V 156Q 5W. Initials of targeted PI was JP. I had a strong SOP and some interesting work experience, but no research experience. I've also spent this year taking Psych prereqs. 
Hold out hope if you're still waiting! I may not be accepting the offer, but I'm waiting on some other schools to make a final decision.
