  1. For those who are anticipating a waitlist from UofT MSW - please don't be discouraged by that, I know at least 5 people who got off the waitlist (in various years). The waitlist officially closes in the first week of classes and people will be turning down their acceptances until then.
  2. Just received my official offer through SGS! Last name K. It was dated March 23rd 2022. Good luck to all the other UofT applicants!
  3. Yup I've been using the same ACORN account since undergrad and no issues with logging in/info updating. You can see the screenshot in my previous posts - I just had the "Invited" status for MSW for the fall-winter term. No official offer of admission letter yet.
  4. I've had my ACORN account as a UofT undergrad so it may be different for others - I just went to my financial account, selected the Make a Payment option and paid by credit card. On your dashboard you should also see Make a Payment button under View Invoice. Since my payment was processed already, I no longer have the Make a Payment button. If you're still having issues you should contact them after you receive the official offer.
  5. I am in your same boat - my acorn and SGS are updated (I already paid the deposit), but am waiting for the official form now.
  6. I am 99% sure they are updating SGS with that info alphabetically. I saw your last name initial and you may see it change later tonight or even Monday. Another poster with an earlier initial than ours had their SGS updated late last night. Though I agree, doesn't it make more sense to send out the official letter of acceptance first/update SGS, then update Acorn? Weird order their process is. Though I'm 99.9% sure an Acorn update means an offer of admission, this is based on my 4 rounds and 3 years on grad cafe, and of course your admissions dept contact ?
  7. My last name starts with K and it was just updated (I've been checking all day lol, took a break, and checked again after reading here). I was getting real nervous there. So I do believe they are doing this alphabetically.
  8. Same, I was so excited I paid it immediately and now it's a green $500 in my financial account. It still says invited but I know (as a previous UofT student) we actually need to confirm our acceptance (after we receive it) before we are "Registered". It's just a waiting game to get our final docs at this point. Like others said UofT has a class size of 140 so it's going to take them longer to send them all out.
  9. Thank you! First round - I applied straight out of undergrad with some but not a lot of direct experience (research assistant and a few months on the crisis text line) and pretty marginal grades in my last 2 years (around 78%). Also my references could have been better Second round - I applied the next year and had been working at a great lab where I got direct experience with conducting clinical assessments and psychiatric interviews. Still didn't get in so I started taking make-up courses to improve my GPA Took a break from applications for 1 year Third round - I had a lot of hours built up, a co-authorship on a peer reviewed paper, and great grades on my makeup courses (check my post history to see my stats last year). I even had a social worker I work with read over and edit my personal statement. I was kinda dumb and didn't realise for UofT, if you want to take makeup courses, you have to take a full 4.0 FCEs outside of your undegrad for it to count as your new GPA - I only did 4 at that point so they didn't even count into my gpa. I was very upset lol This round - I have 4 peer reviewed publications and poster presentations, 9000+ hours with a lot of direct patient contact, completed a certificate course on Indigenous history, and had my 8 makeup courses/ 4.0 FCEs (gpa was like 3.95, 5 A+, 2 A, 1 A-), I also retook a research methods course and got an A+ (it was an A/100-level course but it was on their approved list LOL). My references were also pretty good (a distinguished mental health professional and researcher, psych professor for a course on CBT where my final mark was 90%+, and supervisor on the crisis text line). I was really determined to get in this year so I had a meeting with a professor in the department (I did a work study with them in undergrad) and they said the breakdown for admissions is like 40% GPA, 40% experience + personal statement, and 10% the research methods course. Also I feel like my personal statement really improved significantly this particular year. I was really candid about my personal lived experiences, picked a pretty good contemporary issue in social work, etc. All that to say, I was still not expecting to get into UofT this year, I expected another waitlist. This just goes to show that even if you meet all the criteria over and above, the admissions process is very finicky.
  10. This was my 4th round of applications and I was prepared to quit applying for social work if I didn't get in this year. I cried last year when I got waitlisted from UofT for the 3rd time. Speaking from personal experience, if this is your dream, please don't give up. If you want to hear my experience let me know.
  11. For UofT, I have a feeling we won't hear via email/SGS until tomorrow. Usually they start updating people in the morning through into the evening. Nobody has heard via email or SGS yet?
  12. Like others mentioned, it should be on the front page when you log into Acorn (this is the front page on my phone).
  13. Someone asked about this earlier - I applied to the UofT 2 year program and the Windsor MSWwp program. I will be accepting my offer to UofT and turning down Windsor if I receive an acceptance/waitlist. Still no notification via email or SGS but I already paid my admissions deposit ? Edit - I have applied to the UofT program 4 times in 5 years, so if anyone has any questions or inquiries about the application process or criteria, feel free to ask. I feel like I'm an expert in the UofT MSW application lol.
  14. From my previous experience, they usually send out the acceptances + waitlists on the same day - they send out acceptances first, followed by waitlists. However I've also seen that they update ACORN a day or so before sending out actual acceptances via email/SGS portal.
  15. I did my undergrad at UofT so I've had the same Acorn log-in since then.
  16. For those wondering, my last name starts with K - no changes on SGS portal yet and no email. However this is the first time I'm seeing the $500 in my Acorn so I'm 99.9% sure it's an acceptance ?
  17. My status on Acorn just changed to invited, with a $500 deposit. I can't stop crying This is my 4th time applying, so everyone, hold out hope! Don't give up!
  18. For those wondering about UofT 2-year program, it is typical for them to send out rejections way before waitlists or acceptances. Last year I recall rejections being sent out in early March, several weeks before the acceptances/waitlists were sent out - we can expect acceptance/waitlists to go out last week of March/first week of April. I believe this is around when they officially start reviewing the 2-year program applications, and some get rejected early on based on the admissions criteria (e.g. not meeting GPA cut off, etc).
  19. Thank you - I was more so curious re: people saying their status changed to in process multiple times and that being a good sign of being accepted. I was wondering how long it took for their status change date to change again after the first in-process status.
  20. For Windsor MSWwp non-bsw applicants - has anyone heard back with results yet? How long did it take for your application to change status dates (after the first in process status)? This will be week 5 for me.
  21. International applicants start getting results around mid-February/early March, domestic applicants start getting results late March/early April.
  22. I am 95% sure it will be waitlist, but who knows
  23. Still waiting for a decision, letter K over here
