I also want folks to know that I highly recommend the Addictions & Mental Health program at Humber. I did it back in 2019 and it honestly changed my life and I was able to land a job during the program at a youth mental health agency that I've been working at for almost 2 years. If anyone has any questions about it, feel free to ask. ?

I am ok with that decision because I am going the MSW route instead- Good luck to everyone

Wonder what's making them stagger out the rejection letters. I received an unofficial rejection from Todd but nothing from SGS yet. 

Hey Everyone, 
First time posting but I have found comfort in reading this forum over the past couple months knowing I wasn't the only one stuck. I received my official rejection about 20 minutes ago. I expected it but at least it's for sure now. Happy I can email my references to thank them and let them know the outcome rather than being left in the same joke of a waiting game I was. I've now accepted a graduate certificate in mental health and disability management starting in September. Congratulations to all of those who were accepted

I emailed Todd, todd.will@utoronto.ca, who's the program coordinator. This is what he said: 
I’ve inquired about the status of your application and can report, unofficially, that your application to the MEd program will be recommended for refusal.    Unfortunately, with 702 applications for 35 spots this year, there is not enough spaces to accommodate all strong applicants.
I'm told you should receive the official application response via email very soon.
From a previous email I had sent, I had received this response: 
a decision has not yet been reached regarding your application, and that's why you have not been notified yet. 
As of now, my application still says "Under review". 
Sooooo yeah, idk lol. They're playing all of us. 

I emailed Todd and I'm unofficially rejected. Feels better to know than to hope! Only 35 spots and 702 applicants this year. 95% refusal rate is a joke lol. Best of luck everyone! <3

Nothing official Also, I'm in the same boat where I don't wanna email hahaha! At this point, I'm going about my life as if I've been rejected, but it sucks cause I just want to let my references know the final outcomes and officially move on :(((

Hi friends. Sorry to those who received an unofficial rejection.  I currently haven't gotten any updates yet and I'm not about to email Todd so I'm just going to wait and see. I have friends who have gotten late acceptances for other programs at UofT this year, and apparently UofT sends out late acceptances a lot. ?  Honestly, whooooo knows???
Those floating in the unknowing abyss with me, I salute you. Lets see what happens. And those who already know, I wish you all the best with your future endeavours. 

I know some of you aren’t ready to hear this because I sure as hell wasn’t when I got rejected - but what is going to make us amazing counselors is who we are and our experiences not some piece of paper or where we get that piece of paper. Some of the most amazing counselors I have had got online degrees from places I hadn’t heard of and some of the worst counselors I’ve had went to prestigious schools. Let’s not let some academic/educational system define who we are and tell us what we can and can’t do. All of us here have the same goals - we want to help people and make a difference and if we keep that in mind and express our most authentic selves - I’m confident we will all find fulfilling work that brings us abundance. You are all amazing people who want to do good in this world; believe in yourselves and the universe will too ❤️ There are so many beautiful paths to the same destination. And one day I’ll meet y’all there ?

This makes sense since they mentioned to vancouverpsych (forum member) that they have a lot of out of country admits who needed longer to respond due to covid issues so the wait list people will have to wait a while. And it seems most people who got accepted were international because there are barely any acceptance posts on grad cafe because I think it’s mostly a Canadian thing. I mean I think international students are great but it should be fair so Canadians don’t get screwed over we can’t all afford to study abroad and pay international tuition. The OISE program seems hypocritical since they are all about social justice, equity and minimizing cultural and social barriers. They are basically creating a cyclical cycle of oppressing those from lower SES backgrounds while admitting wealthy people who can afford international tuition to get ahead in their careers. This is how the wealthy get wealthier and the poor get poorer and the middle class diminishes. Thanks U of T. Okay sorry rant over. I just had to. 

Oh wow! Well at least they'll let you know sooner if you're facing another deadline. 
Honestly at this point, I'm going about my life as if I've been rejected because I just can't keep waiting. So essentially I'm putting into action my plan B for not getting into grad school! 

Email today from APHD Department:
"Our OISE registrar’s office is processing application decisions at this time. I’m told all applicants should receive an email update within the next two weeks.
 If you are facing a deadline with another program offer, let us know and we can seek permission to release an unofficial application result via an alternate method."
So, they have extended the timeline multiple times, all other schools have finalized decisions ages ago, and they HAVE finalized results for students, but it is going to take them TWO MORE WEEKS to send them.
I'm so over it.

Nice to see a fellow Vancouverite at least get wait-listed! Good Luck I really hope you get in - although mid August is just ridiculous! As for the rest of us, I think OISE needs to get their shit together and finally just send out all of the acceptance/rejection letters ASAP so we can all move on with our lives. Either way, knowing is so much better than this limbo!! 

Hi all! I am accepting my DPE MEd offer in the meantime while I wait to hear back from Counseling Psyche. I filled out the confirmation form attached to my offer letter and sent it to confirmation.oise@utoronto.ca. Is there anything else I need to do? I'm pretty sure I'm okay but just thought I'd double check with you all to be safe lol

Thanks a bunch - I got rejected from all my other schools and this is the last thread of hope I’m holding onto lol. That’s a great idea about emailing them! I’ll report back with any details, if relevant. Hope you can get some clarity on your apps soon! It’s taking ridiculously long and it doesn’t help we’re mostly all highly anxious people haha
