  1. I wanted to do this and let it be open so people in the future can read and think about it. I felt so lonely during this process and would’ve been helpful to know more about it. First of all, start as soon as you can. I heard about the scholarship in August and thats when I started trying to write the motivation letter, cv and doing the portfolio. I have really high scores at university. I also worked during my studies, at my own company. I did an exchange program and also have a minor degree. At the summer I did some summer courses at the university I wanted to study at. I also hired some help, I did a consultation with a former daad scholarship holder and he helped me writing my motivation letter. I took a long time thinking about life goals, choosing the experiences that was worth telling and trying to explain not only what I did, but what I learned with them. I highlighted the skills I got with each experience I had, during university classes, work, summer school, and so one. I tried to explain in detail what I did in my former studies and what I want to do next. I really studied the university program, and could explain in detail why do I want to study at this university. What does this master has to offer me, the research they do, the classes… For my cv I found a professor’s one at the university website and used it as a guide. I did the german test (it was not required because of covid, my course is in German.) and got also high scores. I sended 3 recomendation letters, one from my home university, the professor who was my advisor for my ba’s final project. One from a professor at the university I did the exchange program (it was a national one), I also worked as an assistant to this professor so she wrote about that as well. (I actually asked her to let me be her assistant because of this application and I had a great time and did a lot of networking with that) The last one was from an international professor that I got to know during a course I did over the summer. It’s a lot, but if you are still in university think about what you can do to make your history more appealing. Think about summer courses, if you can do them in Germany at the university you want to study at, better. Try getting some work experience and a letter from a employer. I hope that helps! Try your best, at the end I felt really happy with the results and also more confident in life. Wishing you all the luck!
  2. So happy for you! congratulations And for those who have tried, it is a big win coming this far. I am sorry you didn’t get it this time, but try again, try other scholarships and don’t give up
  3. Thank you Dimba! Trying to plan ahead after many months of waiting. Thanks for sharing
  4. Hi Dimba, I would like to know how is the time schedule for the German course. Did they allow you to choose the time of the day you prefer to do it? Thank you in advance, I am trying to plan my life ahead only knowing that my course starts in August.
  5. Thank you! For keeping us posted! Let’s have a coffee in Germanyyyy
  6. Hi all! I got it!!!!!!!! Just received a message saying that I will receive the letter in a few weeks! Thank you all for doing this wait so much better!!! And for those who didn’t got it, try to find a way to make it happen.
  7. My status just changed!!!!!! Selection made!! It is moving forward!
  8. They say hfbk usually only accepts students that made the Ba there... do you know Pedro Risse? He studied a master at udk something about media... thank you! Good luck to you too! And let’s hope to get some answers this month
  9. I am applying to the udk, Stage Design, the Hfbk in Hamburg and the udk Costume Design. I was already rejected by Hfbk, now waiting on the udk. How about you?
  10. Just emailed Brazil office and they told me the selection was made and now they will do the formalities to inform the results. the results could be out this week or the next... Don’t know if it’s good news to hear the same old “two weeks” hahahah
  11. I agree with you. Usually the answer for the art program is in March! Plenty of time to organize and plan stuff. I am also worried about the german course, as they are so behind will they offer us less course then they usually ofer?! Would it be more hours a day? I guess if they are so late, like this, they have to make changes and adjust. Hire more people, I don’t know. Is not that the pandemic stroke this year... I understand it makes things harder, but we did apply on time and managed to fulfill all the requirements during very hard times...
  12. Nothing for me... still paper copies received.
  13. I am sorry to hear that! I can relate so much with you, have also been preparing for this for 2 years now. Hope you still find your way to do the master! You can start and try the scholarship for the second year, maybe. Also with the students visa you can work part time... I know is not ideal, but it is what I am planning to do if I do enter the master.
  14. I thought it was just me hahaha. Also freaked over here... I don’t know, hope I am so wrong... but have the feeling I could get the answer until the end of the month.... cannot wait anymore and have started to move life forward...
  15. Oh! Thank you just found it! Taking any smoke signal from Daad, hahaha.
  16. I can imagine the anxiety! It is good news, they are moving forward with the results! by the way, where do you see that? I haven’t find the dates for funding at my application.
  17. Good and bad news. If South America comes after all the countries in the EU... we will receive our answers by Christmas lol. But good to hear some people are receiving answer, at least it’s moving forward! Thank you for the update
  18. Sorry to hear that! I didn’t apply to that program, but did applied for a master this year. I can understand your feelings and I also overthink my essays. But what is helping me is making plans for the future with a plan B that can be cancelled in case I get accepted to the master. It’s a hard year making plans, as I am in Brazil and everything is crazy/closed/dangerous, but I am trying to find a way of doing plans and also to do stuff I like and am passionate about. Hope you can find something to cope with and receive my hug from a distance!
  19. I understand there is different courses. In my case I have b1... so I am a bit worried that if am required to do 4 months it’s getting too late. Yes! They are making things so much complicated by all this delay. Is hard to plan ahead not knowing and sometimes impossible not to move forward after almost 6 months waiting...
  20. I was thinking about the german course. If there is 4 months of language course. The university starts at October 15. If they are taking that long to announce results, how would we do the german course? People who got the scholarship will start german lessons next week...
  21. Two weeks = anytime between two weeks and one year. ?
  22. Don’t say that :(. If they are late due to Covid results will be out in December lol
  23. I think you should apply anyway. Mine already closed and I applied. If you don’t get it and don’t want to go you can refuse it later.
