Quoting this to say that I received an offer today from Western and accepted it (I was told I was in the first quadrant of the waitlist)!! I will be declining my acceptance to UofA so hopefully that opens up a spot for someone else! Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone's transparency and willingness to help on this forum, it has been a lifesaver. With this being my third time applying and being waitlisted for the second time, I was beginning to loose hope but I'm glad my hard work payed off I wish the best of luck to everyone, please please feel free to message me for advice/help ❤️- 1,373 replies

This is my first year on UofA's waitlist so I'm not sure how far they get into it, but I'm assuming they'll go about half way given that there's only 35 people on the waitlist. Thank you!! ❤️- 1,373 replies

I received an email on the 16th that I am next in line on the waitlist and that they have a spot available! According to Viki, I am to expect to receive my acceptance letter in the next two weeks on my portal. Although to be honest, am still crossing my fingers for Western (am in the first quadrant of Western's waitlist)- 1,373 replies

Does anyone know how far into the waitlist Western went last year in terms of acceptances/seats available after April 15th? Janet has informed me that I'm in the first quadrant but not sure if Western usually gets through the whole first quadrant lool, any insight would be helpful!!!- 1,373 replies

Hi, does anyone know if schools consider pre-requisite GPA separately from sub-GPA? More specifically, when ORPAS asks to manually input your prerequisite and add the grade associated, what is it's purpose in terms of selecting an applicant?

I'm in the same boat, second time applicant, waitlisted at Western and rejected from UofT. I was also thinking of doing CDA next year to gain some experience while I reapply. However, one thing to keep in mind, although this is just what I've heard from speaking to current SLPs is that there are not a lot of job opportunities (in Ontario at least) for CDAs. So realistically if I were to go down the CDA path and then not get in next year as well and on top of that not be able to get a job with the CDA certification, it would just be a bummer. I am thinking of doing a one year graduate in either occupational health or health management, something of that sorts, while I volunteer (if possible) with an SLP. I think this might give me an edge, something to set me apart from other applicants, since the education I get from doing a health management related program would really assist me if I were to open my own clinic down the line.
