Sorry, I reused "clear admits" to try to address two users at once. I only noticed a pattern for December invitations and cognitive backgrounds. I don't think that "clear admits" exist at schools like MIT, Harvard, Stanford, etc. Thanks for clarifying.
I think next week is going to be the start of a mix of rejections (UCSF, UW) and the beginning of interview invites for the remainder of schools that send out in January (eg. Stanford, MIT).
My guess for schools that already sent out invites that you also don't get a rejection from...there's a chance you're waitlisted and could receive a late interview invitation between mid-January and early February. It looks like last year UW might have sent out a couple more invitations in January
BCS and Stanford are typically in January.
It looks like in years past there are a couple invites in December for BCS, but seems like it's clear admits more on the cognitive side. This is speculation though.
If it ends up being a system error and no one was able to evaluate your application I'm pretty sure that would be grounds to get a reimbursement of your fee.
I wouldn't worry about the UG GPA the higher degree and research experience will matter. I would ask you one thing since you have a higher degree and a great GPA during it as well....Are you only considering US? You have the MSc so there are great schools in Europe you would be eligible for. Applications are usually free and the programs are shorter (because you have a higher degree already). You can always come back to the US for a postdoc.
The deadline to respond to the interview slots was yesterday, so I want to say yes.
If people declined then maybe they will go back and invite a couple more but I'm not sure how that works.
